players currently gain rank from playing the AI, which distorts the actual rankings quite a bit. this must be done for some reason, but I'm guessing it's just a hold-over. any chance on getting it updated?

Well the AI player is also ranked so really it shouldn't distort it that much. And also once they play real people it should quickly correct any distortion.
