I am using the browser version and have never tried the download version. Anyway, two things that I would desperately like to see are (i) a tab for a FAQ and (ii) a tab with links to the most important entries in the Wiki. I think these things could be very helpful for new players.

Agree about such Tab (probably one tab is enough for that).
And by the way, UI in browser and downloadable versions is exactly same. Main difference between browser/client is in Battle, that looks much better in client.
