Actually how about we make a long league where anytime you win a game in the league you get a new card that you can use in that league. This way you can practice deck building, get rewards from playing etc.

and if you lose you lose a card

Inapropro, my friend.

Also, you get your card by spending cold hard cash. No one is arguing that cards should be free. I think it's been the Dev's intention from day 1 to have you spend Real People Money. So buy it.
The problem with Jed's argument is that, short of selling a rare card, you can't sell a card to make it into jade. Even uncommon cards in the market, right now, can't be sold for more than about 5-7 gold on average.

I think I'll be less concerned when an expansion comes out. At that point, I'll be willing to put more money into this game.

minor correction, there are some UC's that only go for 6-7, but that's a small minority. most go for 20ish, and some go for 30-40. so assuming you get a little lucky, or you play keep cards draft, you shoud easily get more trade value from any pack you open.

I.e. a $10 investment in the game can go a long, long way if you spend it wisely and trade wisely. or just be smart about putting up buy offers on the marketplace.

I'm no expert, as plenty of people here who've played me can attest, but I've been an infinite player for a couple months now. It used to be I spent most of my time trying to win GC Prelims to some success, and used a cobbled together MF deck to do it. When I won instead of buying individual cards I just always bought packs, and any cards I have more than three of go into the market. Now I wake up anywhere from 50-200g per day richer. Now I have enough to play Jade and buy packs and sell cards.

I was disappointed when the 1g per game ended, I myself earned at least two packs on AI games alone. I have a friend on the other hand who has spent USD on nearly every card he has. We both love the game. The point is it should be a labor of love, no matter how you're playing.

And if you just can't win, well, practice makes perfect.

I've yet to sell an uncommon for less than ~10 gold. See my market pricing strategy thread...

In other news, I bought gold back in November. Since then, I haven't really had the need. But... I probably will again when the new set comes out.

Ok, I feel the need to defend my assertion:

Arcane Adjustment: last price 4, can currently sell for 4
Barrier Peaks: last price 2, can currently sell for 1
Benefits of a Clear Mind: last price 4, can currently sell for 3
Call from the Pit: last price 4, can currently sell for 3
Cloud Tether: last price 3, can currently sell for 6
Draknor's Chain: last price 3, can currently sell for 2
Exhausted Mine: last price 3, can currently sell for 1
Foul Termite Infestation: last price 5, can currently sell for 1
Geomantic Trickster: last price 6, can currently sell for 6
Haunt: last price 5, can currently sell for 5
Heart of the Mountain: last price 5, can currently sell for 4
Knowing Dispair: last price 4, can currently sell for 3

Ok I'm only at K and I'm already bored with this. I also skipped a bunch where the last sell price was around 10, but the current sell price was still below 6.
The point is, there are plenty of uncommons that suck. And you're just as likely to get those in a pack (like it seems I did) as you are to get something like Ord Beast which people feel justified selling for close to 400g.

So, for those of us sitting on 3 Lightness of Being cards (last price 2, can currently sell for 1), using uncommons to get a ticket into Jade isn't exactly feasible.

minds, all the cards you listed can go for much, much more than the 'sell for' price. Like sun, I have yet to sell a UC for less than 16g, and that includes crap ones like the ones you listed. sure it takes a little bit more saavy than just taking whatever offer is listed, but I don't think that's an unreasonable thing to ask of people if they're complaining that things don't sell for enough.

Heh, i've even managed to sell some commons for 20+ gold apiece ;)
And uncommons for 100+ on the same market.
It's extreme of course, but still, median prices are something like: ~4 for commons,
~25 for uncommons and ~100 for rares and oddies.

So it seems like the solution to this has been the ladder points and the phantom cards? I'm interested to see how these play out.

So am I the only one who earn money (I guess no) or are there some tests actually?

For info, i ve won 3 games vs 3 differents players and in differents kind of play (free intro and similar player) but only 2 gold fall from the sky... God has taken my little penny or is it just a wandering thistle falcon???
