I've had a lot of games lately where my opponent resigns without playing a card and have noticed there is no effect on either my rating or ladder points. Usually, the opponent is a new-ish player, but sometimes someone well establihed. Can someone explain the whens, whys, and howes of when resignation does/does not affect ratings? |

Yea I've seen people who will mulligan up to 5x and then resign because they didn't get their dream draw. |

I was watching my numbers pretty closely and I don't think a resignation after mulligans gives any ratings or ladder points. That's why I started the thread. I thinking the same thing. A resignation after mulligans but before a card is played should count as a game. |

I think its partially the nature for newbies to run away from u big ppl. When I was a smaller fish, even I didnt prefer to sim with the bigger ones people. I generally AI untill i notice some of the bigger guys are in game, then open the sim window. Otherwise I would be gold-less untill now. Also, sometimes you may wana sim your friends. Zephsk, a RL friend of mine, is someone I challenge often and sim occasionally (last week i tore 200+ points from him!) and when we are ready to sim, if one of us enters with someone else.... But its not terribly often atcually. (very few of you see me resigning rite?) A solution would be a window opening, asking: do you want to sim with xxxx? y/n? if no, you exit the sim window and can try again. OR maybe start with the 7 cards closed, and you can press a button to either start or end the game immedietly. |

Challenge is for playing someone you choose. Sim is for rolling the dice and playing the hand you're dealt. In no way, shape, or form should you be prompted in sim whether or not you want to play player X. Nor do I think should people be allowed to fish in sim for their desired opponent. |

What do you mean by not wanting to Sim the bigger guys? Sim, by definition, makes them within a certain rating level of you. You can only sim players that show up as green. |

I think what he means is new players being anxious about sim-ing against experienced players. There is a big difference between a 1300, 50 player and a 1300, 300 player. I have no issue with these guys resigning a game before playing a card, but if a card is played or a mulligan taken, the game should count. |
