Enough said... The most painful part is, I thought the water would help protect me. It went overboard...

I did pull out a Trebuchet later on and was able to establish buildings on the opposite shore. Those, of course were already surrounded by enemies waiting to pounce at anything that got through.

hehe nice, but this random map creating system is muuuch better than premade maps.
so xD
maybe there should always be a way to reach every land field with another one.

Well, theoretically, I was able to cross over with a 2-vision building, then would (ideally) have built a new base on the mainland. But that would have drawing out the game uselessly.

You had enough space to place a CREATURE, even 3 buildings! What more would you want??
(just wait till you start on 1 hex island .. gg 1st round, happened to majority of players here ;))

Imagine getting caught in the same position during a grand clash match playing sylvan v sylvan, except putting your grove down in the only place a 2 vision building could reach the mainland.

Funny things was I put my grove down there because it looked better than the other side.
Bah.

Same thing just happened to me the last game I played. I put my base in the bottom left corner because there was a lot of water in the bottom right and not a single water visible in the bottom left. Well, that water in the bottom right was a river that flowed all the way to the left side of the screen almost perfectly in line with the unobservable spaces. Fortunately I had enough vision to see across what was now an ocean that I could see 2 pieces of land on the other side. I placed a building (Dank Pit) on one of 2 pieces of land I could see. In order to protect if for 4 turns while it was completing, I dropped a Planar Rift on the space next to it and on the next turn popped my Hell Cat through. That's when I found out that it was a 2-hex island. :( gg
