Welcome, and have a seat! If you are a new prospect in the world of the far wilds then you have come to the right place!
The purpose of this thread is to help all newcomers learn the basics of this game. I hope both developers and other players will help building a little beginner's guide. I will lay the first brick, but please feel free to join the construction when you have something to say!
First of all I would recommend you to look at the 'how to play' section on the homepage. As the game is in development you will sometimes experience differences between the homepage and the actual game. We are for example currently testing a higher glory goal. (15 instead of 10).
When you create or join a game you have to select a deck from the list of decks you have available. There are three pre-made-decks; Sylvan, Mountainfolk & DarkLegion, that you can choose from if you haven't built your own deck yet. When all player have chosen their deck the game will commence. When you enter a game you are shown a portion of a map, and you are dealt 7 cards from your deck. You will also notice that you have some flux to play cards for, usually 8.
Rounds & 'Momentum'. In this game there is something I would like to call the momentum. The momentum switch from player to player, and when a player has the Momentum he/she can do one action, and then the momentum passes on to the next player. If a player wishes to skip momentum, or figures out that he/she can't or won't do more in the round he/she can click on the pass button. When all players have passed the round ends, and a new round begins. The first player to press pass starts the new round with the momentum.
The first card you wish to play is what I call either a 'domain-building' or a 'base'. There might be one or two players out there saying "Nay, I wish to play Trunk Hermit!" but they can't depend on that unit being in their opening hand each time they play! So the first thing you need on the board is a building that provides you with a domain. For example 'Graveyard' that provides you with a Dark Legion domain. A good thing to do is to place it near a flux point so that you will gain control of that flux point.
The first building you place on the map has no construction time. The rest of them have construction time, unless they are placed within the area you control, or are special buildings without construction time. ('Heart of the Mountain' is one of those special buildings) Once you have your first base on the map the real game starts. From there you can, if you have the flux and domain(s) required, play any card that you have in your hand. To win you have to reach the given number of glory before your opponent(s) does. There are some cards that provide you with glory (People's champion, Bard's Inspiration, Mastodon etc...), but the main way to gather glory is to control more flux points than your opponent(s). If you do that, then you will gain 1 glory at the end of each round. Hopefully you are a better strategist than your opponent(s), and you shall be victorious!
~Wicked~ PS: if you have any questions then I will be glad to answer them if I can, and I am sure that there are other players willing to answer too, as well as the developers! So don't be a stranger, ask away!

Will you please change the colour of your font? The dark red is hard to read on the black background.

Jed wasn't the only one having trouble seeing that dark red colour, I have no trouble reading it myself on that black background! :/ However I have changed it to purple now to suit the people's wishes!

I don't have any problem with the color, but a bit brighter wouldn't hurt

Yea, asking questions here is fine, but opening a new thread will get replies faster As you may well know, the help files on the site are quite outdated, so asking for help from someone in this forum, asking someone in-game or by private messaging people such as myself or wicked are most probably the easiest ways to get help. Also, watch this space, once i get various projects out of the way, ill post my rewritten help files.
