I've been playing the game for a couple of years now and still struggle with that campaign. SC is really about 2 player in the Mezz. Go in and ask someone for a practice game. The players are very friendly and are usually happy to help you through the first few games. It does have a steep learning curve but the added complexity is worth it in the end I think. You just need to stick with it.

Mattness has the link to the Mac client. I use a mac and its perfectly stable and well supported. I'll try to post the link, or put a post for Mattness on the SC forum site.
