No worries peeps... it will all work out. Altar of Ix should dim says I, but only if you want to balance things better. I believe it will be nerfed soon. For the love of dogs, I hope it is sooner than later. All of this angst would be warranted if the financial system of the USA and Europe was about to fall off the proverbial cliff, but that is totally impossible according to really super smart government types. So sit down, drink a cold one, flirt with a hot one, and chillax. It is all good. Let the groovy times roll. Prosperously, DarkJello

Well ,they did nerf Stench Cow (which i'm pretty sad about ). So we should be seeing a TheOceanMist revival ix/Plasma nerf around next few weeks/months probably.

I used to play constantly all day... for the past week or so, I only really play against the AI and in the EC's anymore (and I'm not too hot about playing those, either). I'm just so sick of playing against the same DL decks over and over and over again. At least the AI changes decks every so often. It seems real players don't.

Honestly, I don't even think TFW is really changing anymore itself. In fact (No offense to anybody), I think it's downgraded a bit. I used to be able to find interest in making decks and just playing when I felt like it (not to mention farming phantoms and f*** up at the EC), but it seems that the only enjoybable part of TFW anymore is scripting and whatever we make out of it. We're losing player base, having new discussions about OP cards every week.... meh, something's just striking me as wrong here . Just my opinion. And on a more positive note, visit the Suggestion Box and check out Campaign-Only Entities and Domain Tournaments: viewtopic.php?f=11&t=1906viewtopic.php?f=11&t=1922

Heh, decided to throw this into the mix. Last night, I was actually considering playing in draft. I also thought about domain, but realized just in time that that would only mean more DL, so that was quickly quashed.
I like the game and all but it's predictability has really made it stink bigtime.

WTF! I tried playing sealed... and my opponent threw in DL, so he could use ix/np. This game has really gone down the drain... in record time, too, since I've only been here a couple of months.

My thoughts: Altar of Ix needs to be nerfed. I suggest having it dim on use. That might be too much... I don't have time to "play constantly all day", thus I don't get bored with the game. This has been my #1 game/hobby for about 9 months. It is my sincere belief that Darwin himself would be amazed at the degree to which it has evolved. Changing things too quickly is a recipe for failure IMO, but at the same time one must take risks to advance. We all have opinions on what should be done next. Great and good, but please realize most of the changes you want probably won't happen. Jed cannot possibly grant my wishes and monyx's, and cavetroll's, and huger's and... Something has to give. Please continue to plod optimistically forward on your quest for excellence Mr. Dungeon Master sir! Over the years I have played many a game of battling carnage and daring bravery! The vast majority of gamers I know play for fun AND to be victorious. I personally thrive on great battles that I ALSO win. That is my motivation for gaming and taking risks with new decks. Let us be honest, playing a new deck in an EC is a two-edged sword! Some players are more adverse to taking excessive risk, so they play the tried-and-true archetypes. That is fine and dandy by me. Some almost exclusively play for fun, constantly striving to break the mold and defeat opponents in the most ingenious ways. That is great too. They will certainly suffer more losses, but the glory of their victories is multiplied to compensate! DL appears to be the king-of-the-hill right now, but a needed nerfing or two will once again shift the balance of power towards other factions. Just as MF and many others have been nerfed as the need arose. Evolution baby, it is real! Final point: just last night I battled my way to 2nd in an EC with a deck that had a collection of twists and tricks I have not personally seen before. And ALL 3 of my opponents were running decks with any number of combos I have not seen in a deck!! Yes, I said all three. One of them was Atahualpa's "Slumbering Giant/Arcen Moatworks/Pigeons on steroids" deck. Very tricky dude. DarkJello

Update: EVERYONE that made the top 4 in the EC currently running had at least 2 Domains of DL in their deck. All of them were running which card? Yeppers, Altar of Ix. Enough said! DarkJello
