I may not be proposing anything new here; but, I wanted to revive the thread(s). I think more scheduled tournaments would be a good thing. I'd like to suggest the following:
1. Expert Clash: owned decks only, prize structure of 5/3/1 2. Minor Clash: all cards allowed, prize structure of 2/1 3. Default Deck Clash: only default decks, prize structure of 1
schedule the expert clashes every n hours, starting on the hour. choose n such that gcf( n, 24 ) = 1 to ensure that all hours will be cycled through. schedule the default deck clashes to begin one hour after expert clashes start. for hours with no expert or default deck clash starting, have a random chance p of starting a minor clash. I think n and p should be tweaked to have at least eight tournaments a day, on average.

Dang you zurken, stealing all of my thoughts. I mean queeshai, it is a nice dream. More tourneys and those giving more power.But realistically, not going to happen. If the devs wanted to give more power out it would be easier for them to just make more frequent ECs (which needs to happen )

Zurken wrote: nice idea - but, who's gonna pay all the Power given in? my idea doesn't require any additional influx of power. presently, with three ECs per day, 21 power is given away per day. the same effect could be achieved by having one expert clash (@9 power each), three minor (@3 power each), and two default (@1 power each). this is actually 20 power -- so, the schedule could repeat every, say, 22 hours, leading to start-time rotation. upside: an incentives to own cards (expert clash) upside: new users are more likely to earn power (default deck clash), encouraging them to stick with the game and/or purchase gold downside: requires implementation

DOWNSIDE: less ECs honestly, I wouldn't (unless I'm really tired) bother to play against newbies in those small clashes which would leave me with 1 enterable Clash per day .. in the end you've even lowered already low number of ECs. Or I would decide to play in those small ones - and bimp, new players wouldn't get anything again, because I can defeat new player 98% times even with the same deck he uses just because I know the cards. And the fact that I'm in T20 doesn't meen I have tons of gold to spend, I also need Power to enter Domains etc.

in life, you cannot make everyone happy. if there were more power to go around to have more tournaments, that would be great. as it is, I think it is important to the long-term growth of TFW to have more tournaments per hour and to get new users more involved (yes, at the cost of free power to some of the more veteran users). more active users will mean more tournaments and rewards later.
anyway, just an opinion.

There would be too many clashes going in 1 day (power reaping, sort of like phatom farming). I think the EC is fine as it is.

I think keeping the schedule as is and adding 3 default clashes a day is a good idea. Its only 3 more power.
