Seeing as how we have to wait a while for matches to come in and I assume nodoby likes to stare at the screen just waiting for something to happen. Most of us would wander off the game screen and focus our attention on some other recreation up till somebody comes to play against us.

In this regard, it would be great if there were audio alerts for some in-game events. Nothing fancy really, doesn't even have to be distinct alerts for each item, just a single sound so we know to look at the TFW window.

It would be nice if there was an audio alert when:

  • A scheduled tournament or event begins or is about to begin.
  • Somebody enters a match against your waiting offer.
  • Somebody enters a sealed/draft/etc. room and is waiting for a match.
  • It's your turn to play.
  • A player similar to your rank is looking for a ladder match.

I know I have missed quite a few EC's because I got wrapped up in a Free Sealed or Draft that lasted a long time. I've also tabbed out and missed someone joining my Free Sealed on more than one occasion. An audio alert for these would be awesome.

Is the point just to listen to static? That's all I can get out of it at the moment.

Not just any kind of static... "white noise," which is "clean" static. It's quite relaxing. That's why back when people didn't have cable, people would always sleep well with their TV's on and just playing static.

Also, I prefer their thunderstorm loop. I've always loved typhoons.

There are audio alerts when most of that stuff happens?
There is also music in the download version.

Yeah, noticed today there's an audio alert at the start of each round... but am on a laptop with weak speakers and I barely hear them :(.

There's an audio alert for drafts too, but I don't think there's one for sealed.

It would be awesome if there was an audio alert for EC being created too.
