It's a crap shot in domain... you play DL and you get 3 lysis and 4 possessions and 7 imps (wasn't that Monyx or Noob two domains ago?) and you win. If you get (like I did in the past two domains), only 1 lysis or and 0 possessions or only 1 possession and 0 lysis, you are pretty much screwed.

I just played a game with Sunburst in domain. He dominated late game with 3 psychotic breaks, mind transplant, freelance drake, noggle bobblehead + rat rifle, ==== way too much sick / "i win" cards for only 4 packs worth of cards.

Balance the packs so that it's a fare match for everyone, testing skills rather than luck!!

Agreed, but this is also URGENTLY needed in Sealed and Draft. I remember owning noob once in sealed because of getting Rithing and he got crap (Strangley, the next sealed between me and him gave him kickass cards and me crap ;) ) In Draft, it's less of a problem, but i hate gettign so many OP cards at once and then regretting my descisions when I acutally start the play.

Zblader:

When I think of OP cards in the sealed format, Rithig is not on the list.

I have used him with great effect via a Summoning Circle, but that is all. My neurons tell me he is 5 domain, which is crazy high IMO.

Errr Smello, weren't you paying attention to the fact noob got crap? I was able to make a decent domain turbo thanks to some diplomats. Imagine what would've happened if I have some Mahals and Vanes in that pack as well ;) .

*cough* viewtopic.php?f=1&t=1836 *cough*

no chance to get this working retroactively, eh?
(but I'd have to get repaid for every other domain I played, my draws ALWAYS suck.)

How do you think the packs should be balanced? Should one be guaranteed to get a certain number of lysises? Curious to how you think this could be done without ending up with all players getting the same cards, and I dont think that is what we want. Personally i think part of the fun is hoping to get lucky, so i vote for keeping it as it is. I do think the domains could be more balanced though. Seems like some domains are stronger that others in domain league, but this must be fixed in a new expansion if this is ever to happen.

Yeah, I'm with CaveTroll on this one. I don't see any way to balance it from a per pack standpoint. Sometimes you'll get good packs and sometimes you'll get bad ones. It should balance out in the long run if you buy enough packs, but we're still talking probably 20-50 packs or more.

As for domain league, with only 3 packs, you're going to see a much wider range from the best decks/collections to the worst decks/collections. It will become more balanced as you get more packs. Unfortunately, as it becomes more balanced, the league is coming closer to ending, which also makes it that much tougher to recover from a bad initial starting collection.

Starting with only 45 cards and making a 25+ card deck out of them is gonna be a crap shoot (in terms of starting collection) no matter which domain you choose.

What I don't get about domain packs is this...

I've bought 10 packs in domain leagues, total. Out of those packs, I've gotten five unaligned rares. Only reason I buy domain packs is to get CI rares, but it seems that the chances of getting an unaligned card is so high (50% for me).

Assuming that unaligned cards have the same drop rate in domain packs as the domain cards... don't you think the card pool is being flooded with unaligned cards?

I agree with Atahualpa. The amount of unaligned rares seems to be quite strange. In one domain where I bought but one extra pack, I got 2 unaligned rares.

Ask anyone, they will tell you that in domain DL does better on average than any other domain.Take my 45 card pool for example. I got 2 assassins, 4 imps, 1 lysis, 1 poss, nightmares, claimed with blood, and 2 castle dunmars. Also psyclone got 3 duchess and a ton of other good crap. Other domains just can't compete as often (although there are obviously exceptions (Sunburst))
