I'd prefer more EC's, myself, even ones that vary formats... the current schedule is pretty good for me, though.

I think having more scheduled would be better than changing times. As it is, the ECs are at around 9 AM and 9 PM my time.

I've said this before and I'll say it again. What we need is for the EC to go back to what it used to be of once every 5 hours. This makes it more often but more importantly it means the time changes constantly so if 1:00 works for you eventually it will be at that time (like once every 4 days, but also at 12:00 and 2:00 pretty often). Anyway, from what Jed has said I think this change is coming soon.

most people are interested in "more free stuff for themselves" -- not in a rotating EC time. when I suggested that the offset be nine or ten hours (instead of eight), the community response was, "whine whine whine."
and, there has been discussion about getting rotation for (at least) the past four months -- so don't hold your breath.

I've had this discussion with two other people fairly recently... More free stuff is a good thing. The only times the lobby gets active, really is during EC's (people trying to get free stuff). There's also the ladder, which, frankly, sucks. Topping the ladder gets you 60 phantoms, which you don't usually need, by the time you can get enough phantoms to build a new deck, some of the originals are gone and you have to hope for them again.
When new players come in, they see a handful of players, half of which aren't even playing. What's to prompt them to play? Obviously even the current pool of players don't do so very much.
Lets face it, giving away free stuff keeps the game active. Keeping the game active brings in more players. Bringing in more players brings in more money. So what if you support a thousand free players with free stuff. It's the 100 new paying players that matter and those new players aren't going to come unless the thousand of free players are already there.

my knee-jerk reaction is to be inclined to agree -- that more free stuff (in the way of generating more activity) would be a good investment by jed. that being said, jed has access to data that I don't have access to. he seems to care about this game both as an investment and as a community. so, given that more free stuff hasn't been forthcoming, I'm inclined to think that the data doesn't really support it.
anyway, the point of my thread is that there are many ideas throughout the forums which are (often not so) cleverly disguised memes to the extent of "more free stuff for me". and that is fine. I'd just prefer not to conflate that concept with other independent ideas (e.g., changing the ec rotation schedule).

Heh, point taken but you gave a bad example. Change the rotation schedule = give me a better chance of getting the free stuff.
Still... As I've said, the current schedule is perfect for me (one during lunch break at work, one after dinner at home and the third while I'm usually still awake on weekends). I would like to see more EC's (I've made a thread) and I would like to get more free stuff (I've said as much several times incuding a direct conversation with Jed).
I also want to see less DL decks, but that's another topic.

Agreed. I've said similar things to similar response. Although the schedule is great for me as it is (I can get all 3 in a day by waking up an hr early) it isn't for others, and offsetting it by an hr (gasp less EC's!) would help people who currently are screwed by the fairly static EC times.
