We want to reward active users for writing good content in wiki. I was thinking about rewarding most active/useful users every month (one, top 3 users or something else). That might be a good alternative way to get gold for new players as well. I was thinking about it for a while already, but I'm still trying to figure what is the good way to say that some edits are good and other are not, or that some player did more good things than another. Measuring some numbers is usually bad idea, since it leads to writing longer texts without any reason to make them longer, or make as many separate changes as possible. What do you think about this idea in general? Is there good ways for simple (and probably rough) measurement of user activity? P.S. Also reward for writing about game in other places as well is required, but this is a bit more complex and should be reviewed individually. Includes info about the game in forums/personal blogs/social networks/websites about games or something else. |

I don't know if it's built into mediawiki or if it's a mod made by wikia itself but... Wikia has a badge system where you can define qualifications for awarding badges. Perhaps you can use some of those... The badges I've seen can be awarded for volume of edits, types of edits, edits in categories, adding new pages/blogs/categories/images, etc. |
