I don't think paying accorns for EC at the current time is a good idea. I will soon run out of accorns, and its not because I dont play casual, but because I cant find oponents when I have time to play. If more people is like me, soon EC will die out too, since too few players can pay for it. I think EC is one of the few things that make people show up these days. I think delaying paying for it until we got a bigger player base is needed.

I completely agree with CaveTroll here. I know one player who regularly attended ECs before this addition, but only once after it.

Why was that feature added anyway? To prevent abuse/exploits? I think there are MUCH more pressing concerns than that at the moment. Going out of one's way to prevent abuse is an excellent way to get players annoyed and make them leave.

The point, as you told a while ago is to encourages people to play regular ranked matches against each other. With current amount of players 30 acorns is a bit too much, so I removed fee for now. But usually three wins gives you 30 acorns, and all games including sealeds and drafts also counts, so this is not much at all. Also N players in EC plays N games total, giving 10acorns average per player, thus in theory decreasing number of needed acorns by 10.
