I won an EC last night and felt like i lost. I really dont like acorns for EC prizes.

At an EC, today... someone bet 3g on me, someone bet 1g on underdogs. Too bad, I don't really care for EC's anymore and used an experimental deck that's only been used once before. Needless to say, it failed miserably.
Big winner at the EC... the guy who bet on the dogs and won the 3g!!! Way to go, dude!
Oh... you're saying the guy that won the 300 acorns is the big winner? Seriously? You believe that?
Edit: OMFG! What if I was the guy that bet against the 3g and intentionally lost the EC in order to take the loot!!! After all, 1g > 482,394,128,924 Ratings + 482,394,128,924 Acorns.

Yea am mighty happy with my 300 acorns, guess they will collect some dust on the pile until there is something to do with it, grats on the one who won the 3g. Never the less I still enjoy the EC as a constructed tournament and well a big pile of acorns can be fun to have too, just waiting impatient on the gold tournaments hope they will attract more players and we can all have a good time again  .

It's true that the EC is still great as a tournament, but the loss of power makes it harder to earn gold without someone risking alot (unless you are an expert and lose on purpose. ) If gold tournaments do show up, what will their cost be? What format will they be in? Are they meant to fufill what was once the ladder and/or EC's role? I'd like to see some of those questions answered.
