the launcher should automatically try and install this file for you.
look in c:\windows\system32\
and see if you have
D3DX9_37.dll
if not, if you run the launcher it should say
Starting...
Verifying VC redist
VCRedist up to date
Verifying DirectX
Downloading DirectX update...
Updating DirectX...
DirectX updated...
Verfiying files...
Updating files...
which means its updating directx
when you launch do you see version v.291h?
I made the following steps:
1 ) uninstall my old far wilds client
2 ) download a fresh client from website
3 ) install this client
4 ) run the game. The updating process occurs, theorically updating all directx files
5 ) after update, the "bugtrap window" appears (see above on my post)
6 ) I read the error message on 'Exception reason' box and did a doubleclick on farwilds.exe on 'helpers' folder. He says "missing D3DX9_37.dll" (something like that).
7 ) So, i downloaded the file and put it
on helpers folder (not in sys32 folder) and VOILÁ. The game is running perfectly.
Im not a expert and i dont know why some people had this problem (including me), but if can help anyone to solve the problem and enjoy the game, that's it.
Oh, and yes...after updates my version jumps to the last one =)
