I'll one-up you, Keyser. Look at this picture. My deck is completely DL. My opponent had ascented an Tree Herd I possessed earlier in the game (round 10). I discarded the Tree Herd after I autodrew a Grove earlier, but 9-10 rounds after that I autodrew another Grove. What is up with that?

My guess would be that you autodrew it and then you cycled it so it was put in your deck. Since you had 3 domain already, you didn't need any particular domain, so it got autodrawn as soon as you ran out of autodraw cards above it.

Seems a reasonable explanation, Kash. Still sucks for autodraw give a domain I have no need for.

Three comments / questions:

1. As far as I gather, the only problem with the current system is that you sometimes get basic buildings that you never want (and didn't put in your deck).
Wouldn't that be fixed by Keyser's simple tweak? Namely:
You can only autodraw a basic building if your deck had that kind of basic inside it to begin with.

2. A question about the proposed 'fated' keyword:

Isn't this identical to the old autodraw?
One difference I can see is that 'fated' doesn't take into account current playability, which could be a big problem for cards like Astridian Diplomat.

3. Regarding the "free card" gained when playing basic buildings from outside your hand (alla Jed's idea). This can be solved by the following tweak:
If you play a basic building, you forfeit your next draw.
