Post subject:  AUTODRAW STILL BROKEN

I have a DL deck that has only 3 non DL cards in it. Those 3 cards are MF discenchants. The buildings are Graveyard, Alter of IX. Nothing else. There are no other buildings in this deck. I cast the disenchant when needed using Diplomats.

Mid-game, I had a Graveyard in play, no Domain giving cards in hand, and a Disenchant in hand. I drew a Dwarven Hall (which is NOT in my deck).

This cost me a turn bcz the draw was useless. In order to draw another card that would give me DL, I would have to cycle two turns: first the Disenchant, then the Hall. The broken autodraw would have cost me 3 turns, so I didn't cycle.

I ended up drawing another Disenchant later in the game, giving me two of them in hand.

The game was almost over, all i needed to do was cast Ragnarok and I would have won, resurrecting a Lord of Chaos next to his base. It had to be done the next turn, because he was at 16 glory.

I had 7 flux, two domains in play, and a Ragnarok in hand.

In normal circumstances, I would have cycled the Domain giving card, forcing the Autodraw of the Diplomat, allowing me to cast Diplomat on the next turn for the third domain, cast Ragnarok, and win the game. However, I couldn't do this because of the Autodraw, and lost the EC.

I think I just hand an Auto Draw bug hit me.

It was game 51234 in the domain tourney.

I had heart of the mountain in my hand and no mountain to play it on. I cycled the card to try to autodraw something I could actually play, but each time it kept auto drawing heart of the mountain.

I cycled it 5 times with the same heart of the mountain coming back up, it really was 5 times, after the 3rd one I started keeping real close track.

I can't say for certain that it cost me the game, as I was it trouble anyway. But it definitely made it impossible for me to win. I went 5 turns with no draw and nothing to play.

My deck contained exactly 1 heart of the mountain so I can't see how it could possibly come up 5 times.

Did you have any other MF domain sources left in the deck? I don't think it checks whether there is a legal location on the board, just whether you meet the domain requirements, in which case this would be correct behavior.

If it is correct behaviour, then Heart becomes unplayable - becaus you're pretty much struck at the moment Kit described..
I think it shouldn't work that way :(

I suppose it partially depends on what cycling a card means. I had assumed it means that the card is discarded out of play.

But if it is placed on the bottom of your deck instead then it could well be that this is what would happen.

But if that's the case this makes any card that generates domain and is conditionally playable a big problem.

Yeah, you can really only play those situational ones if you have a number of the basic ones in your deck and even then they tend not to be all that good.

It did it again today... My first hand had all DL cards and one MF card. I have NO MF bases in my deck, yet my opening hand had a Graveyard and a Dwarven Hall....

Keyser just play another deck for the time being. ;)
And return to this one once this problem is solved..

It's a problem for any deck that runs multiple domains, but doesn't run basic domain bases for those domains.

As I understand it, it seems Autodraw is working as intended with the new mechanics.

Situation: 1 DL domain, no domain cards in hand, card requiring MF domain in hand.

TFW first looks through your deck for a MF domain card. Since Diplomats only autodraw when you already have 2 domain, they're ineligible.

TFW next grabs you a domain card from the everpresent standard pile, giving you a Dwarven Hall so you can cast your Disenchant.

Why was a mistake? Did you have other DL cards in your hand that also required another domain? If so, it seems like the game is picking a card that you need a domain for first, then looking for the domain rather than checking for any needed domain.

(BTW: I think you can actually remove the graveyards from your deck. Autodraw will still pull them up since it will look for a base to get you started.)

As far as Heart goes, you can still play it, but you will need to include a few Halls as well so that you can't get stuck re-autodrawing it from the bottom of the deck.
