I couldn't hit, or even target, a Hypnotic Banshee while she was travelling through a forest(i was attacking with both a catapult, and a tree mother), then when she left the forest i was able to attack her.

I used shift over her to see if she had an enchantment(she didn't), I asked to make sure she wasn't enchanted(she wasn't)...

May be you just didn't seen something with fear in fog near banshee.
