When a corpse or possibly multiple corpses are in the same square as a creature you'd like to have the carrion feeder attack, it doesn't seem to allow it any more. Mouseovers to change the icon to the sword attack icon seem to return it to the select from which corpse do you want to consume option. Switching modes to Ctrl-A / Ctrl-M allow you to attack normally of course.
