there should be a medusa card
the medusa is a creature that has no vision and is very slow (movement 2 I think) and whenever it melees a creature that creature becomes a building
the new building is not a base but controlls area acording to its original vision
it of course losses all movement and attack

It seems to me that ability (interesting for sure) would be more a drawback than an advantage, unless the stoned creature gets vision = 0 :)

Rarely is living monument used as an offensive card (although it can happen). I can't imagine wanting to make a lot of buildings out of the enemy's army.

That being said, the ability could just be "any creature that Medusa melees has their speed set to 0."

i forgot to mention that this ability is less like an attack and more like a sacrifice and can be used on your own creatures - i also think you should sacrifice the medussa while doing it

In which case it is just another form of Living Monument? Nah, it should be an offensive ability. How about:

"Any creature meleed by Medusa is enchanted with Petrifaction."

With the enchantment (which could be a seperate card also, though it is very nearly identical to Icy Encasement) being:

Petrifaction
MX3
Enchant Creature
If enchanted creature is aloft, it loses aloft and takes 3 damage.
Enchanted creature has speed 0, Armor (2) and cannot attack.

or a less icy version:

Petrifaction
MX3
Enchant Creature
If enchanted creature is aloft, it loses aloft and takes 3 damage.
Enchanted creature becomes a Building with speed 0. This building controls only the space it occupies and cannot attack.

2 modifications needed in my opinion

firstly the building should have no vision, or if it does, it shouldn't have control of the area, because it isn't a normal building.

secondly instead of whatever medusa hits it turns into stone, it should be whatever ATTACKS medusa turns into stone, because to attack her is to see her, and to see her you turn to stone. although elementals should be exempt from this.

in this way she could be combo'd with subject of loathing quite well.

also whatever turns into a building should only have the remainder hp, and not the maximum hp of the original creature.

So the end result:

Gorgon Medusa
1DL 2X 5 flux
aloft (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Medusa)

3 attack 7 health 2 speed 6 vision (she's got snakes as her hair) 1 range (snakes in her hair probably can hit air units and in a lot of depictions of her, she is holding a spear or trident, as she was punished and turned into what she is by athena due to making love with poseidon)

Ability: whenever a non elemental creature attacks medusa that creature is turned into a building with 0 vision at the end of TURN (round would be too slow, if we're remaking the medusa of legend, she turns things into stone instantly, just like how agent of death is the reaper and he kills instantly) with hp equal to its current HP and is no longer a creature.

as for the permanence of this effect, I think that when gorgon medusa is destroyed the creatures turned into buildings should remain as buildings. HOWEVER I think that if someone plays the card waken the stones they should not be turned into their original form with the additional attack from awaken the stones and they should still be buildings only receiving the +2 attack and +3 speed. Although if someone plays foreshadowing of Ragnarok I believe they should be turned back into creatures again but should not retain awaking of stone's effects due to their no longer being buildings (which means that foreshadowing of ragnarok should get a boost and take medusa into consideration OR with the expansion there should be ways to remove or counter creature skills such as this and be able to heal them.) I also think that certain elemental creatures should be immune to her because you can't really turn a dust devil into stone can you? :P

Why not have the medusa read:

Any creature with Medusa in sight is dimmed/cannot undim.

Make her expensive, low health, low movement, low sight, and little or no attack value.

So basically any creature that sees her cannot act.

that's actually a good idea, though I wonder if in practice if it will make it too powerful. I mean what about abrixian salamander's ability? are they all stuck? If what you say is true then there's no need to ever move her. and the only way to stop her is to lysis, or ascent. It would also make it so that your own creatures can't untap around her... that would be annoying ... but if the ability is what you suggest she WOULD be the ultimate defense unit late game, even agent of death would be afraid of her. pretty much a mass entangle in my opinion ;D

Just have high movement creatures kill her. It wouldn't be THAT powerful on its own...

Something like teleport would screw someone's day up, though.
