Is there any point in using the wind reader because the only difference I see between it and the Elven scout is that windreader has a higher flux cost is uncommon and thus more expensive and there rest of the stats are Identical?

They have different move and vision. Windreader can see more than it can move, Scout can move more than it can see. Vision is (in this case) considered to be more desirable, hence the more expensive flux cost.

try to play against well played Windreader and you'll soon find out why it is more expensive than the Scout.. the vision is REALLY advantage..
