At first glance this card seems like it has a lot of potential. Against the computer it isn't hard to get it into play with a vision of 4 or 5.

However, against a human opponent that is much more difficult. With a DL/DL/X domain requirement and only 1 base vision and limited numbers of vampires available for use it is tough to get it working well.

Has anyone successfully used this in a constructed format? Sealed or Domain? I have 5 Bloodlings and 2 Castles in Domain right now and I'm still not sure it's worth playing the Castles. Granted, it would help if I had Diplomats to get to 3 domain faster, but if I can get 3 domain with 3 Bloodlings out I'd probably have the game without the Castle.

Maybe you should not rush your opponent and keep your bloodlings alive.

Well, most good DL decks I see are 3 domain (either dl/dl/dl or dl/dl/x), and having a 2 flux building to drop gets me every friken time it is used on me. I think, okay, no buildings they can drop at 2 flux, then oh look, a castle. Gets me every time ha. I think for the price, a building that has vision and that much health is quite good. And if you can get vamps around it, so much the better.

Seriously, I really dont know how you could complain about castle dunmar. Its a building base with good life. Most domain decks, and as noob said DL decks, go 3 domain. Just it being a building base is a huge tactical advantage.

Heh...I might agree with that if I actually see a deck winning EC's using it.

As far as I know, Angelathiest's mono-DL deck that has taken me out of EC's uses 3 Bloodlings and no Castle. DL likes cheap, early buildings and powerful late things. Cheap late domain cards in general seem to be weak with a few exceptions like Possession.

Sexygamer won the EC last night with a vampire deck that was packing at least 1 Castle Dunmar! Besides being a hot dude, he is not too shabby at this most crazy and fun game we call TFW... IMO at least. 8-) I presume he has some of those irksome Belfries as well. Maybe he will solve this mystery and share his dark secrets with us? :?:
