I like FLash poweder as a spell, I just think that its effects should have a lifespan.

Let's make it interesting: make the lifespan random. Say that at the end of the round, the enchantment randomly decides whether it will disenchant or persist until the next round. That way there is no fixed lifespan, and it makes play a little more interesting for both sides. Sunyaku wrote: Ahh, I think you might be right Red. Quoting this so it doesn't get erased. . .

Ooooo, I like it! Either give all the affected creatures a 4-12 round blindness lifespan... or expand the area of affect and give each creature a ~25% chance of recovering from blindness each round.

If this card could only be used to permanently blind a single creature no one would be requesting this change. You could say that if people playing against MF decks do so intelligently they should only ever lose a single creature because they will have accounted for the AE cards like this and volcano that they know are forthcoming.
Of course that isn't entirely fair and forcing people to maintain minimum distances between their characters is a very harsh penalty, especially based only on a possibility and when terrain penalties are high. What would the cost be on a card that forced your creatures to maintain a minimum distance? The terrain of a map often forces channels of travel based on where the lowest cost hexes lay. Passively forcing people to either suffer the penalty of moving out of those channels or risking the consequences is another indirect benefit of AE spells.
A percentage chance to recover devalues this card's AE range and general effectiveness however because if one creature recovers then the flux is essentially wasted. A fixed duration is sensible and warranted given the power and utility of the card for the very low flux/domain cost. On the topic of the other AE...
Volcano is also a bit much in my opinion and should probably be more like 3/1 at most which still allows it to act as a Lysis++ but would reduce the possibility of having a base and a creature removed (occasional) or simply two and sometimes three creatures (usually). That will be even more true if the cost of raising domain increases and will force a revision of the costs/targeting of other direct damage spells such as tremor/avalanche/etc or the durability of those buildings.
But yeah, what they said.

Tryste, isn't it a little inconsistent to be against a duration on corpses, which would effect everyone, but for a duration on a single spell you don't like?

lets make it a contagious eye disease instead so all adjacent creatures loose their vision too, at the end of the round.
yeah think about THAT game...
