So i am a newbie here and have been trying to construct an army. Any insight or thoughts good or bad are appreciated. I am still learning all the diffrent ideas when it comes to building a good deck. Buildings (7x) 1x Vapor Mahal 1x Graveyard 2x Foul Obelisk 1x Magma Chamber 1x Alter of Ix 1x Eye of Varexes Creatures (18x) 1x Cinder Mogi 2x Crypt Doctor 1x Yalrinian Fiend 2x Soul Broker 1x Falme Ent 2x Flamekin 2x Hell Cat 2x Zombie 2x Lawn Gargoyle 1x Blind Assassin 1x Skull Catapult Enchants (5x) 2x Possession 1x Planar Rift 1x Claimed with Blood 1x Traitorous Foundation Spells (11x) 3x Gather Spirits 2x Lysis 1x Sunburst 1x Cloudburst 2x Inundation 2x Tremor Total 41 So i have been trying using Alter of Ix with Posession and the planar rift. Makin it so i could possess other creatures and then move them to the alter and sacrifice them. Also been tryin to use 2 inundation on the main area of construction turning the entire area to ocean and destroying the buidings But all this alot of the times seems to take to long to set up and one part of the chain gets broken before i get to use it. at least against the better players. Anyways any thoughts are always helpful. thanks |

more copies of Crypt Doctor, Flame ent, possession would help, Flamekin is pretty bad in my opinion. red imps in multiples are definitely better than zombies if you have them. Also it does not seem like a good idea to have tremor, inundation and traitorous foundation since all 3 attempt do deal with buildings in different ways but do not complement each other. |

Inundation is fun, but you must play it 3* otherwise it has no point. |

Read this wiki article on Deck Building Having one of a card doesn't tend to be that great, as it doesn't give you good odds for drawing it. Any card/combo that you want to see during your game, such as a crypt doc + possession, you should have 3 of in a deck. Cards that are late game cards are ones you can get away with have 2 of, but having 1 of them doesn't really help in deck synergy. Cards that are extremely viable to the deck, such as Altar of Ix are likely to be targeted by your opponent. You need more than 1, even though they autodraw, unless you can defend it with extreme ease. You only need 1 basic building because of autodraw. I'm assuming you only have 1 Fiend, Eye, Assassin, Claimed, because that's all you own, right? If you have more, add them. Consider: Buildings (8x) 2x Vapor Mahal 1x Graveyard 2x Foul Obelisk 2x Alter of Ix 1x Eye of Varexes Creatures (20x) 2x Cinder Mogi 3x Crypt Doctor 1x Yalrinian Fiend 3x Flame Ent 2x Hell Cat 3x Red Imp 2x Lawn Gargoyle 1x Blind Assassin 3x Nether Plasma Enchants (5x) 3x Possession 1x Planar Rift 1x Claimed with Blood Spells (9x) 2x Gather Spirits 3x Lysis 2x Sunburst 2x Tremor |

Others will disagree with me, but I would suggest only using one domain at a time when you are learning the game and learning to construct decks. By doing this you avoid issues over how much domain generation to put in of each type. In addition, I would even suggest starting out with only one domain cards in your deck. Early on it is unlikely that you have access to most of the domain accelerator cards (ones that help you get to two and three domain faster than just using three of your base cards). By only using one domain cards you alleviate this disadvantage. Plus you will learn the cards you are playing much better. Good luck. |
