When I first started everyone seemed to gravitate toward Dark Legion and Elemental. I've been going MF all the way but I can't seem to get past an undefined level of play.

I'm not stupid by any means. And if given powerful combinations of cards I know how to play them to my advantage but the MF don't seem to do anything. Am I the only one seeing this? Am I crazy? Is anyone else having success in the upper echelons with MF decks?

Post your deck so we can help. Mountainfolk does seem to be a little behind the power curve in my opinion. Basically I think Dark Legion has too much symmetry going for it compared to Mountainfolk and Elementals have a lot of cheese ;)

One of the strongest deck in The Far Wilds was MF deck.

Alt, can you highlight this MF superdeck?

I have played almost only MF and it seems to me that when it works it is a thing of beauty, but they seem to take more luck in the draw to get it to work just right. Sylvan decks are easily my hardest to play against due to their early speed but you can with a decent draw. We also get some serious heavy hitters late in the game if you can live that long.

volcano+avalance does wonders together, i prefer a 3 to 2 ratio. the MF are mainly about the bash, there finess seems to be exclusivly on there rare cards it seems. There just good old smash face.

My success with Mountainfolk always has come on the back of the Shield Warrior. That guy is nuts. Two of them are effectively unattackable unless the opponent has a trick. Set up a formation with some small guys backed by them and take the center, then use flux advantage to set up your big guys. Volcano is the other key card and a total bomb--- it is one of the best ways to assault a group of buildings or a group of guys.

MF. To make a mountain folks army we need to think in. What are they good at? There are no fast and have not much sight. But they 1) Can hit hard and 2) endure a lot of pain.

First deck I made was based on MF defensive strategies. Dwarves hit hard and have lots of hp but are slow to move so they are not good attacking but they are great defender. They have many cards that help you defend a pint so throw some Bards inspiration and make then defend that. They are hard as rock especially with shield warrior.

Then it comes the problem of the beginning. How to make a Dwarven decks fast enough again a sylvan army. Answer is in the spells and enchantment, Manipulate, Training and Horns to hide (don’t remember the name but is useful to make those weenies 0/4 creatures). Now if we once again think that they are though and can’t stand lots of damage (training, rune of shielding) there is an elemental card that makes perfect synergy, “Hail storm”.

Lots think I have find very useful in MF based deck (I mean mono MF or decks with just few from other domain). And knowing that to win on must make sacrifices. Fissure and Sink hole are the key. They can disappear strategic enemy constructions and so taking flux wells out of their possession. Fissure is very versatile because It can take out that big creature that is going to ruin you. If you are worried about the 4 glory you can use the toothless mastodon that is another card really synergic with a defensive strategy.

MF has some high domain/flux requirements. For example volcano requires 2 MF domains, and many of the MF creatures cost 5+ flux. However once you get your stuff into play you pack a mean punch. Using cards such as Galom's Prospectors, Ord Stone and Hadark's Throne early on in the game can help you get your stuff out faster.
When you have your stuff on the board you want to keep it there, using cards like Shield Warrior, Stone Mason and Null Stone can help you there.

These are just a couple of things you can do using a mono domain army, and using two domains instead of just one will give you even more options. A weak spot in one domain can be reinforced with a couple of cards from another domain. That is why I prefer to use 2 domains instead of one.
