Can someone answer a basic question for me, I haven't for the life of me been able to figure out: each round, how is who goes first decided?
It's not alternating.. I know that.

Given your record doiron, I'm suprised you didn't know that! I guess you'll just be even harder to beat now. I look forward to it.

I can say for certain that if that is the intended method of determining who goes then it is broken.

I've heard the least time theory, but it doesn't seem to work that way for games I play. And if it did, then I'd agree with Tryste that it's not a good way to handle it.

Any suggestions to fix it? How about something like this... whichever player spends the most flux in a given round goes SECOND. Any thoughts? This would certainly make 'negate' strategy a bit more interesting... since you would spend, get negated, get it all back, and probably spend more.

Ok, since we don't have the answer from jed I'll put in my experience testing this.
All the games I've played against the AI I've noticed that it alternates every ROUND. Whoever went first at the beginning of the game, you'll go first every odd round, and the opponent every even.
I've tested this against 4 AI opponents before, and every round it went to the next player to the "right."

When playing the AI I find that I go first every round. When playing against other people it doesn't seem like there's any pattern or that if it is based on time then it's the person that takes longer who goes first. That's why I say it's broken, because it's absolutely not working if it's intended to be whoever used less time.

It is supposed to be the person who takes the least amount of time each round. But there is a bug so that isn't the case.

If that were the case, then playing the AI would let it go first every time. Needs fixing jed!
