Aquatic creatures, almost all of which have some ranged attack, have very few ways of being dealt with.

I propose that when aquatic creatures are adjacent to a land space they should be able to be attacked by other creatures. Given that sea units cannot attack and move in the same turn, except against other sea units, I suggest allowing land creatures starting a turn with full movement points to attack or otherwise 'board' adjacent aquatic creatures. Alternatively a high , say three, movement cost could be assigned to the attack.

This would retain the tactical use of aquatics while not rendering them off the board to the narrow current methods.

I disagree on change,

currently all aquatics have a huge drawback, they have to stay in water, which usualy but not always restricts them to a tiny corner of the board. I think this is drawback enough, as i both use and have fought against them. My only argument is Tempest is a really rough to handle creature.

I don't think aquatic creatures should have their own one-off rule. The aquatic rule should be similar to the aloft rule.

Aquatic creatures should be able to stay out at sea and attack as long as they have range. As soon as they melee attack something then they should be suceptable to return melee attacks till the end of the round similar to how it works for aloft creatures. Melee attacks should then be defined as attacking a creature adjacent to you even if you have a ranged attack value.

There is a tricky situation where there is a hex of water between the aquatic creature and the target but there is also a land hex next to the aquatic creature. In that case the aquatic creature is not attackable by land based melee creatures since the origional attack was a ranged attack.

Making aquatic creature attackable if they are adjacent to land nerfs them too much in my opinion. Most maps don't have that much water on them to begin with. If the origional change was adopted I think aquatic creatures would get even less play then they currently do.

I don't know what you guys have been experiencing, but I've had my aquatic creature attacked from land before with melee.

I'm going to have to agree that aquatic is just too powerful. at least aloft the creature comes down and you can attack. aquatic you have almost no recourse but to completely avoid it.

sure they're limited to certain spaces, but right now they function as attack-immune earthworks/foul obs.
