Has this been scheduled yet? Jed and I have been having email issues... not sure if a final decision has been made.

Nothing that I have heard.... but I'm not in it so I wouldn't have been directly contacted... nothing has been mentioned here on the boards though.

We are pushing it back to the 11th to make sure everything is set up correctly.
so the time is:
Saturday April 11th at 20 GMT (4pm est).

Good to know.

And for the record, if you wanted to have it a few hours earlier, OR postpone until the following weekend, I wouldn't mind. :-) I can make this time work... it's just sub-optimal.

For the future, I had a thought. After decks are set and everyone is randomly seeded, maybe the first two rounds of competition could be at the leisure of the combatants. Then the two players could work out a time to play, and they could enter into the game using a special option that would appear under the "Fight" menu. This style would also open the door for larger scale tournaments as well. Then once the field was reduced to ~4 people, you could schedule a big "final four" event, and it would be a lot easier to work around everyone's schedule.

So let's say I was paired up first round against doiron, for example. If both of us were on, then one of us could go to the Fight tab, and create our grand clash game. Only one's preset opponent could join a game of this type, and the outcome would be logged and processed outside of the current "realtime" tournament format.

Thoughts?

Throw in a deadline for the game and I think that would be a great way to do future large-scale tourneys

Grug and NuT also want it to be a bit earlier if it's possible.

I think sun's got a good idea there. I know I won't be around the weekend of the 18th-19th so it's going to be impossible/very hard for me to compete if I make it to the 2nd round if it's at one set time. I'm sure other people will have similar issues.

That, and since people can't observe the matches anyway, there's no real reason to have them all at one time.

Well if we're not letting anyone observe then being able to record the match somehow and let people watch them later would be a great thing.

Otherwise um... Any time over both next weekend and the weekend after works for me.. so if other people need it to be at a different time I'm ok with that.

In order to accommodate more people we are going to have 2 tournaments
tomorrow. You can choose which tournament you play in but you can only
play in one. The top 3 players in each will advance to the next round.
Times are:
Saturday April 11th at 14 GMT (10am est).
Saturday April 11th at 23 GMT (7pm est).

I had said before at 20 GMT I wanted to spread the times since we are
having 2 now. If neither of these new times work for you but 20 GMT
did email me and we will work it out.

PS: side betting might be in place in time for the tournament.
