Big concept, and something which may work or may totally fail in the system. In addition to enchant-creature type cards which give additional attack, there could be weapons. They would differ in the following way:
They wouldn't be subject to disenchant spells (but conceivably there would be things to destroy them)
If the creature carrying a weapon dies, the weapon is dropped on that space. Any creature on that space can dim to pick up the weapon, regardless of who owned the weapon to start.
This could be toyed with in a lot of ways. For example, a powerful DL weapon might also kill anyone it attacks at the end of turn. An axe might give +1 attack, and an additional +2 attack if in the hands of particular creates (like axe...masters...). Bows would give players a fighting chance against what now seems like a huge advantage - aloft.
Other ideas that might go along with this:
- Only certain creatures can use weapons. For example, treents may or may not have the necessary opposible thumbs.
- Maybe some building have the "armory" ability, which acts much like a base. Weapon cards can only be initially cast on creatures adjacent to an armory.
- Weapons can have breaking points. Something like "everytime it's used, add a fracture token to this card. If this card has # tokens, remove it from the game."
