I've been toying with the market for a few months now, after deciding to stop playing the actual game until the new set. I figured it'd be a way to build my card collection and gold collection. However, here are a few ideas that I think would improve the market:
-------------------------------
#1: Ability to mass-cancel your selling auctions or the cards you're buying. This can be done with a rebuilt selling and buying interface, where each card you're selling or buying has a check-mark box next to the card. You can either check individual cards or use an option "select all" to delete as many cards as you'd like. Currently, I have 300+ cards for sale and I'm buying quite a few as well. Deleting all of this would currently take an epicly long amount of time.
-------------------------------
#2: On the left-side pane of the market (Where you see all of the cards) - allow for more search options. Here are some ideas for search options: * Cards I own that I am either selling or not selling * Buying price range * Selling price range
-------------------------------
#3: An option to switch to list-mode. This will become even more useful as we add more sets to the game. Instead of loading all the card portraits, allow the user to manually select an option to disable the portraits and display the cards in list mode. Think of this as excel spreadsheet format I guess.
-------------------------------
#4: When you're selling a card, have the UI tell you if you have the current lowest sale offer (somewhere, preferably in multiple places such as the card sale pop-up window and the card index directory). Meaning, when someone clicks the "buy" button they're going to be buying from you. This can be deceptive, because the price you input and the actual sale price differ due to the cuts taken from buying the card. (Ex: If I put up Lava Blister at the price of 40 gold, it lists as being sold for 42 gold due to the two gold the game takes, this can be confusing).
-------------------------------
#5: Delete or fix the rake for selling common cards. These are extremely cheap to begin with, and some of them go for as little as 2 gold - but if you sell your card for 2 gold, the game takes 50% away from you with the 1 gold rake! I have completely given up on commons for this reason - and when booster packs contain 11 commons, this can suck. Another downside is you can't sell commons for 1 gold - because the game takes the 1 gold as a rake and gives you nothing.
#5a: Have the game inform you how much the rake will be when you input a price (Like, if I type "50" into the price box, have a small box next to that telling me that the rake will be "3").
-------------------------------
#6: This one could be a bug, but should be addressed: As long as you have one of the card - you could theoretically put 10 copies of it for sale that will all be listed in your "selling" tab. Instead, provide an error message when you try to sell more of the card than you have, and give an option to modify your sale price in the same error box.
-------------------------------
#7: For buyers, implement a "buy infinity" of a card option. I am a power-buyer, and I just told the game to buy 5 copies of each card when someone wants to sell them to me. This looks messy, causes additional interface lag, and isn't infinite.
#7a: For sellers, a "sell infinity" option that will sell all copies of the card you own and then proceed to sell any additional copies of that card that you obtain at a later time.
#7b: If I'm selling or buying multiples of the same card (at the same price), stack them in the selling/buying interface. It causes more lag and makes my lists longer just to see 8 Epic Veterans for sale, each with their own little box, all for the same price, and not stacked.
-------------------------------
#8: General improvements for the pop-up box you see when clicking on a card to buy/sell: * Include the last price YOU bought or sold at. * Add the buy or sell infinity option
-------------------------------
Other random things that may or may not be a good idea: * List the average buy/sell price of a card * Indicate how "hot" a card is (How frequently it's being sold and bought)
-------------------------------
I'll add more if I think of it / come across it. =P
