Are there plans for another Guild War or a Guild Tournament of some kind?

Yeah there definitely should be one. I just haven't thought of a good (and also easy for me) way to do it. I could always put the wilds back up for a couple guilds but it didn't really work out last time. Maybe Draknors vs royalfish would work better?

Sounds coolio. Especially if there's 25 gold for a prize.

Of course I'd be interested in The Wilds. I wanted to play in the last one but we were too slow. I think Emancipate would be interested as well. He messed around with The Wilds back in the day.

Also a while ago a bunch of us discussed a tournament where it was double elimination. Where you go in que like domain or brass and play someone from an opposing guild. It keeps going until there is only one guild standing. I don't think this would be very difficult to set up either.

My 2-3 cents, or more:

TFW needs more animosity between the guilds IMO!! I am not talking about a desire to TP monyx's house here, just a good, healthy, vengeance kind of thing... more or less. :x :? Through virtual warfare the community will become more energized.

Bottom line: Guilds must mean more than a nifty logo. :!:

I suggest a 16 player tournament with 4 players MAX per guild allowed. Go single-elim with players spread such that one cannot face a guildmate until the semi-finals at the earliest. Also, I recommend this tournament be held twice on Saturday and twice on Sunday in addition to the regularly scheduled ECs. BOOM! 8-) One in the AM and the 2nd in the PM seems best from my vantage in Washington. (This would make Saturday and Sunday special, just like the Bible intended).

For now you could award 4, 3, 2, and 1 Power to the top 4 placers. So 40 more power given out each week total. As an aside, I personally think it should cost a small sum of gold to join a guild. Maybe 50 gold or something, and 100 to start a guild. BUT, you can then compete in these TRUE guild tourneys all year long at no additional cost. Take 4th five different times during the year and you break even.

Eventually I would really like to see guild tourneys award "Glory" to the top 4 placers. (Again, probably 4, 3, 2, and 1). A new section of the market that ONLY deals in Glory could be the next expansion of TFW. A list of cards, each with a Glory cost, would be available for purchase in this new nefarious region. And to make them ultra-special, only allow 1 only, ONLY [said emphatically] per deck. NOT 1 of each, 1 only total! Think monogamy here. ;) These cards could be traded and sold between players. (Glory and ultra-rares).

A final quick thought, queeshai has been making needed improvements to the 2v2 format. Having one 2v2 tournament on Saturday and one on Sunday would be cool! Why not make this tourney cost gold to enter, with winnings going to the top teams? Just more ideaRs for the PTB...

Cordially,

DarkJello :geek:

What do you mean, just seeing a player from a guild that is not mine fills me with a burning desire to punch them right in the nose!!.
However, I think your ideas are jean-yus. Except many people can't play on weekends so I wouldn't make them all on saturday and sunday. But 2v2 tourneys would be very fun, I support that with all the noob I've got in me!! (a substantial amount I assure you). Your glory super duper rarific cards sound cool too ( but probably too big of a change for jed to even consider-no offense meant to jed).

I don't think there's even a 4th active guild that can participate (read enough members that come online anymore).

I like the ideas, though, and I propose that me and the other three active/1337 players be automatically placed in a new guild all to ourselves for the purposes of these tournaments.

Oh, and there's something missing from your proposal... there's the drawback from being in a guild (if four other guild members join, you are no longer allowed to participate), but where's the advantage to being in a large guild? Does every guild member win the rewards or just the actual winners? Are rewards limited to one per guild? If so, is there spillover? If not, well the additional questions here branch out depending on how rewards are awarded.

I like the idea of glory but don't like how you plan on it being used, though, I agree that a second form of in-game currency is needed.
