I too vote fore more frequent ECs. It is a win-win baby!!!

Maybe award 3, 2, 1 Power instead of the current 4, 2, 1? Just trying to be helpful, as ever.

I don't really see people staying around much more till after maybe (big maybe) one game after they're done with the EC. So, that's what will happen again, just every 5 hours. As opposed to when random EC's are scheduled, they're rewarded for staying around if they're lucky. So the player base spikes from 3 times a day to 4-5 times a day. Not really impressive. They're still just short-lived spikes.

Additionally... I spend at least 16 hours online every day and I've only once seen 30 players in the lobby. Maybe I just never noticed but I'll start tracking beginning right now (currently 14 players including 3 guest accounts and two accounts with less than 2 wins, there's also jed who may or may not be considered a "player"). Triggering an EC when that number is reached would be irrelelvant, though... since that number is only really going to be reached during an EC schedule, anyway. There's no other reason for a large chunk of the player base to play, anyway.

Finally, there is a way to abuse that system. It's pretty common for me to be in the lobby with 3-4 other players and nobody else. We can just bring in a bunch of alts, trigger an EC and reap the power.

Edit: I see that point has been brought up in the other thread as well...

More players every 5 hours is better than more players every 8 IMO.

Jed could personally run extra tourneys at random times as he desired instead of when a certain threshold is reached.

And finally, "at least 16 hours online every day"? Wow!! I cannot think of anything, and I mean anything, that I would want to do for that long every single day. Impressive and crazy all at once. :P

Meh, my job requires me to be online... soon as I get home, I set up my computer and come online. TFW is one of several programs I keep running.

16 hours online does not equate to 16 hours of playing (though, yes, that's possible as well, given greater diversity).

Back on topic, though 16 players every five hours is immensely better than every eight hours... is that all you really want? A game that only comes alive every five hours? What about a game that's alive at any time of the day? Wouldn't that be much better?

All this five hour thing will do is temporarily improve things. Give it a month and people will once again be whining for more because "people only come on every five hours." Why not just cut the chase and get to the bottom line of the problem instead of sticking a band aid on it and hoping you can trick everyone into thinking you don't have a gash on your side that's draining the lifeblood out of the game. (notice the clunky segue?)

I totally agree with Atahualpa on this one. I was thinking the same things before I read each of his posts. These will just be a minor fix to a much bigger problem.

I don't like the idea of EC's every 5 hours. First of all, I think they should be closer to every 3-4 hours, maybe less if anything, and should be different formats. Secondly, I think they should be at a set time each day so people know when to log on if they're not online. There's been plenty of times where I've been offline and logged in at 8am/4pm/12am because I knew exactly when the tournaments were. If you want to have them at varying times during the week, then you can just make a web page with a schedule/calendar and also a tab or button in game with a schedule/calendar.

Like Atahualpa said, this won't change the fact that people aren't playing many games outside of EC's.

I've always noticed that there's a very low percentage of games being played PvP relative to the number of players online, not including during EC's. This is actually a HUGE problem.
