Psyclone, I'm not sure what you mean. Let's say we take hypothetical card X that is never used in constructed, but somehow sees a lot of play in limited. We then buff card X (say lower the flux cost by one). Now it might see some play in constructed (the intent) and will get used more in limited. But are you suggesting it will now be overpowered in limited? I have real trouble imagining what a card like that would look like. The only real differences of limited are fewer cards in your deck and the chance to run more than 3 of a card. I guess you could buff a card that benefits too much from including 4+ of them in a deck, but this seems like a fairly minor issue.

The reason that certain cards get used in limited is that there aren't as many of the tier one cards to use in the first place. If someone drew/drafted the auto includes that you mention like lysis I'm sure they would include them. I agree that the most important cards to buff are ones that don't see play in limited or constructed, but if it doesn't get used at all in constructed it should get some love too.

Psyclone: Which spells/enchants do you think are too strong or that take away from the game? And if you think some of the buffs make a card too strong in limited please let me know.

It's just my personal opinion, but I like the limited games a lot more. In limited, decks are much weaker on average and it seems like the games are more tactical because of it. In Constructed, everyone always has 3x Lysis, 3x Tremor, 3x Hadarck Fort, 3x Ord Stone, 3x NP, 3x Sunburst, etc., that provides a lot of easy counters/destruction/high_vision_buildings/flux_acceleration.

I think cards like 3x Lysis, for example, take away from the game a little bit. It's a great spell and a "must" for every DL deck, but it's a very simple counter to any creature. I just like limited better because my opponent probably doesn't have 3 copies of Lysis, but the card in and of itself is fine. The odds of someone getting 3x or 4x Lysis in Limited, other than domain, is extremely small.

I think the buffs you made so far are fine. I'm just concerned and don't agree with peoples suggestions to buff cards like Lightning Bolt, Lightning Elemental, Prodigal Entropene, Quorum Stone, etc. These cards might not see much play in Constructed, but I find it hard to believe I would ever consider leaving these cards out of a Limited game. And if so, I am probably in great shape then.

I don't really consider "-1 cost" to be much of a buff. It is, but very minor for most cards. Although, "-1 cost" to Lightning Elemental would be substantial since you can recast it over and over and the "-1 cost" adds up.

Is that the intent? If it is, I missed it or didn't assume it.

I would argue though that you see more different (a variety) cards in Limited. I think most people make limited decks with around 28-30 cards in them. Of these 28-30 cards, I'd argue that there's about 20 different cards in a deck. In Constructed, many people play exactly 40 cards with 13 cards in triplicate, which means only 14 different cards total (less variety). Of those 13 cards in triplicate, at least half of them are staple cards that won't be swapped out for anything... eg - 3x Lysis, 3x Sunburst, 3x Ord Stone, 3x Thistle Falcon, 3x Possession, 3x NP, 3x Tremor, Ix, Crypt Doctor, etc. So out of the 13 varieties of cards, really only about 5-7 of them are going to vary from deck to deck. Limited decks are almost always missing at least a few staple cards and deficient in some areas, so you see a much greater variety of cards.

If the intent is to buff cards so they see some play in constructed, then you're going to be buffing an awful lot of cards.

I find it hard to believe that the only thing keeping most cards out of a Constructed deck is a minor buff such as -1 cost.

The following cards have recently been buffed (not sure if this list is 100% up to date):
Planar Intersection Fire (-1 cost)
Dryad (-1 cost)
Treetop Dominion (autodraws costs 4)
The Nothing (made odd. -1 cost)
Brigade of the Righteous (no cost to use)
Snooping Goblin (+1 speed, +1 Vision)
Ronk's Factory (-1 cost)
Alpine Spirit (Mountainstride)
Caravan of Dreams (+1 vision)
Zeppelin Raiders (Spawn in Revealed Space, 3 leak tokens max)
Woodland Link (-2 cost)
Beckon the Bones (can take any corpse)
Decomposition (All Corpses within 1 space of target space are removed. Any of those land spaces with a corpse become forest. Draw a card.)
Micro Tectonics (-1 cost)
Cloud Tether (-1 cost)
Ice Sheet

Even though these cards have been buffed, how many of these will honestly ever make it into Constructed decks? A few maybe? I highly doubt -1 cost was the reason people weren't playing Planar Intersection, Dryad, The Nothing, Cloud Tether, etc.

I think it's ok to have cards that aren't used in Constructed and think it is inevitable unless you make every card relatively equal to one another, which would be impossible.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you want to see more variety in Constructed (different cards used more), then maybe you should consider changing the triplicate rule. For example, something like...
• 1 copy of each rare
• 2 copies of each uncommon
• 3 copies of each common

This was one of the first suggestions I ever made and if I recall wasn't too popular with some people, so I expect the same response, but it's just my opinion. I think it would make the games better though because variety is good.

Monyx... overreaction.

However, I will say that Treetops are now too powerful. Here come the Sylvan Tree Decks, the Domain turbo alliances of knights and elves, and of course, Loyal Wilds nearing OPness.
