Tomorrow we are starting a beta of the new Kingdom system. The idea is that each player has a Kingdom that they can expand and improve. It costs Acorns to improve your kingdom. You can place Creatures, Buildings, and Enchantments in your kingdom. You can add Cards to your Kingdom's garrison which will be the cards that your kingdom uses when it is raided.
Other players can raid your kingdom. This wont do damage to your Kingdom but if the raid is successful they will steal the acorns from your vault and put them in their vault. Acorns in your kingdom's vault are moved over time to your pool of acorns you can spend.
You can find a list of Kingdoms to raid in the lobby.
To try out the Kingdom type /king in the lobby. Notes: - You can't place or change anything in the 2 space border of your kingdom. - The AI still needs to be rewritten to deal with all the cards. So it wont know how to use a lot of things you can add to your kingdom yet.

So... what's the incentive to building a good kingdom?
You get more acorns!!!
(On a side note, if you spend acorns and build a bad kingdom... you end up losing acorns continuously... so why even risk your acorns on a kingdom if you can get them risk-free from an EC).
What do you do with those acorns you get? Build a better kingdom... then... you can get more acorns!!!
Seems like the only use of acorns is to get more acorns... not much of an incentive to get them in the first place... Unless, of course, you get to keep the cards you use in your kingdom. Do you?

Acorns are obviously meant to be a pretty relaxed currency: you get a steady stream just for playing. If it'd be possible to use it instead of gold/power in some cases you'd start a hunt for exploiting these mechanism, resulting in counterpolicies that end up making it a less relaxed currency.
It's a valid question if there will still be ways to gain gold/cards without paying, but it doesn't have much to do with the concept of Kingdoms.

Actually... you get a steady stream by NOT playing. You just spend your acorns, drop it below 500, wait, spend, wait, spend, wait, spend. Come to think of it... I can just bleed a bunch of alts for all their acorns by building crap kingdoms with them!!! I can then steal from their vaults. But then... what am I going to do with all those acorns... Still no incentive, even from that.

Ata: kingdoms only get acorns in their vaults if they beat raids. The acorns you own aren't in your vault.

my understanding is that some part of this is supported now; but only for people using the downloaded client. are there plans to support acorns and kingdoms in the browser client?

i personally think this sounds like an awesome idea....i support anything new with this game. bring on the acorns!! my kingdom is gonna %$#& up ur kingdom Nah but seriously anything new with this game would be nice. and something as casual 50 free acorns every 3 hours seems like a nice carefree environment. so really whats better than getting 500 free acorns... getting 10,000 free acorns over time

bunch of questions:
>as long as I don't have a single building there I cannot be raided? >when I buy some basic building creatures acording to the domain will pop up in reinforcement tab? >I attack someone .. he (ai but whatever) kills some my creatures .. they're dead there, I have to buy new ones? >does the cost of basic buildings increase or can I just spam whole map with them?
