Space between nickname and button is used for current/last action targets.
Space between flux and mulligan button used for domains. They are getting closer to each other, so in current layout there is enough space for displaying 5-6 domains without placing them too close to each other. Also you can have up to 18 domain levels in theory

We changed this layout not so long ago, made it slightly smaller already. But trying to make things as small as possible is bad idea in general.

Oh, now I see why you posted this - on some resolutions right panel getting bigger and you see 6 of 7 cards instead of all cards. That's wrong, but can and will be fixed in different way.
