I think there's a problem with the way the algorithm handles bye's in the game... We had a 9 person game, so the first round there were 4 games and the 9th person had the bye. The second round, there were 5 people let, and so there were two games and the 5th person, who was the same as the 9th person in the first round, had a bye. Then, the third round was three people, one game, and the same person had the bye. So, as far as I can tell, they are at least guaranteed second pace!

to fix that problem you really need to go to a swiss format; which is of course much better at finding out true 1st 2nd 3rd, etc but also requires people to play more games.
I think it's fine for now since it's beta and all, but if you want a true "fair" competition you really need to implement swiss at some point.

I see the first grand clash qualifying tournament is scheduled for the 28th... any idea what time? I'll be traveling that day, so it would be nice to know in advance. Also, I'm really curious what the format will be. Draft would be HIGH-LARIOUS.

I'd absolutely love to see it a limited format of some sort, but I know the people who dumped fortunes into buying gold would argue against me there. I just prefer the level playing field of a limited tourney, personally.

To appease everyone, perhaps each qualification round could be a different format... i.e. one round could be constructed, and another could be limited. Personally, I much prefer the limited format as well. It's more random, and more interesting!

That would be neat. As you said, I find the limited format more enjoyable as it's more of a challenge and it seems that the constructed format leans heavily to the player with the heaviest wallet... or at least, the player who had the heaviest wallet at the start. LOL
