Most of players know that JettJagwar was accusing me in cheating. May be it's ok, any person can have their point of view. I took it jokingly and did not worry on it. Later I was just ignoring such words from JettJagwar. Many players started joking about my cheating and everything was ok, but several new users took it seriously and looked at your jokes as it's not joke and you also believe that I'm cheating.
For example yesterday I played a game and when my enemy caught bug and first possible reason of bug was me (as I cheated to cause this bug), but not client program. He started saying that I have bad reputation and so on because many people was saying that I'm cheater (I know that almost all of them was joking but he didn't).
To avoid such situations if you believe that I'm cheater say whatever you want, you can have any point of view, BUT if you don't think so please don't joke about it at all to avoid such situations.
I hope you understand.

P.S. For those who still believe that I'm cheating: I'm playing this game from the very beginning (9 months) and know all rules, tricks and bugs too and I was one of best (usually the best) player. If you loosing to me very fast it's same as newbie in chess playing with chess grandmaster and says that he cheated to win.

Jett accused me too, no worries. I've had a couple noobs come ask me how to hack their deck.. I'm not even any good

Agreed Altren. I personally consider you to be one of the resident "masters" of this game, which I why I thoroughly enjoy every game I play with you (I love good competition). And I agree with your chess reference, I think of this game in much the same way... although I don't think we have a large enough community to elevate you to the "grandmaster" level... which is why I say "master".

When this game is largely bug free, and when there are a lot more 'solid' players, I think these accusations will pass. For the time being however, I commend you on your gentlemanly response to all this nonsense, and I'm glad you're still around.

Altren -- I applaud your position and esp. the part about "allowing" people to legitimately accuse you of cheating if they feel it's appropriate, but at the same time cutting down on the jokes about it.

Personally, I don't always enjoy playing against you because you typically kick my a$$ but that's my problem not yours. When you do win, I typically learn something from it -- so, it depends on if I want to win or learn that day .

About two weeks ago I became developer of TFW. And even this caused some players to suspect me in using this advantage somehow to beat them. (for example one person was surprised with new water system and of course problem was in me, not in missing forum post ) .

First I decided to stop playing at all in any games for gold, but, you know, most interesting games usually goes in GC Prelim And without playing major games I can't find any overpowered cards or combos (well, usually it was my combos ) and some complex bugs with rare used cards.
So, I decided do next thing: I will keep playing all such games, but if you think that I shouldn't you can say resign at start of game and I will resign, but only at start (first and second round). I will be also saying about it at start of game.

P.S. I'm not going to take part in GC Tournament, because I have big chances there and if developer wins such tournament it doesn't looks good.

P.P.S. I'm still happy to help anyone with game rules, possible bugs and so on. If I'm online and you see something strange (bug or whatever) in game call me and I'll try to help or fix it if it was bug.

First and foremost, the last thing I want is to start a flame war. However, when Altren mentions me by name, he has to expect some kind of response. I applaud his attempt at damage control, but if he just became a part of The Far Wilds development team "two weeks ago", where was this post two weeks ago ? He was still entering tournaments then and only now that I have made his work cited at sourceforge known do we see any kind of admission. If he was not honest about this before, how honest is he being now ? There will always be people who cheat or look for exploits, this game is no different.

Jed mentioned his vision of The Far Wilds becoming as popular as Starcraft. Do you see the Blizzard development team entering pro Starcraft league matches ? I work in software, I have experience in version control for enhancements / bug fixes / experimental builds, and I am all for open source. If Altren or anyone else can contribute to make this game better, everyone benefits. The other side of that is the manipulation of code to gain an advantage over the other players. I am not going to try to justify what would motivate someone to do that, nor am I going to ask Altren how he defines "cheating". Going forward, I will not be making any future posts regarding this subject, and I will end this by acknowledging that there are plenty of players here better than myself. I believe The Far Wilds has incredible potential and I wish nothing but success for the development team.

I have read every post on this forum since I joined the game and never once remember you or anyone else "pointing out" anyone's contributions on sourceforge. I do, however remember you accusing me of cheating as well, and at least one other player that I know of. Your accusations have absolutely nothing to back them up that I have seen and I have no faith whatsoever in your claims.



There will also be people who bitch, complain and cry when they lose. Apparently, as you say, this game is no different.

That said, it would have been proper to make the announcement at that time, but that is hardly conspiracy fodder either to anyone with half of a rational brain.

Thank you for ignoring the points I made and going out of your way to take a shot at me even though I already said I don't plan to continue discussing this. There are exactly three people here that I believe use an altered client and you aren't one of them. In fact, I don't recall ever playing you, let alone accusing you of anything. The dialogue regarding Altren's sourceforge profile was done in the lobby @ a week ago, not on the forum. If you are implying that unless you have definitive proof that someone is cheating then they must not be, not only is your logic flawed, but it echoes the statements made by countless gamers before you who defend the use of cheats and hacks. Also, it would be rhetorical for me to point out that complaining about complainers is a tad bit hypocritical =P. Finally, if you are going to quote me, the least you could do is spell my name right.
