We currently have Constructed and Limited formats to play in and they are all fun in their own way, which is the point. At some point down the road could we perhaps get an UNlimited\hybrid format where the games work as constructed but have deck building rules as limited?

  • Each deck would need to add a boolean value to flag it a [currently legal] constructed deck.
  • To enter a deck into a constructed tourney it must have the flag, but a legal C deck is also a legal U deck so no need to check there.

So, you mean same as limited, but with your own cards? This sounds crazy for me :D Possibility to make deck with 15 Ascents doesn't make me happy.

I think it could be fun. Now you can count the cards and say "alright, that was his last [ascent/lysis/cloudburst] and play your big baddies accordingly, but what if you could have an unspecified number of them? That would add a different aspect to it. I dunno.. it might be fun or it might be too annoying...

Or maybe a minimalist format that has a low maximum number of cards in the deck, perhaps 30?

I dunno. I love that uncertainty in league play of not knowing how many of a card there are, I can't be the only one and it seems it would take very little work to add. It may be worth it.
