There is now a Referral System so you can get gold by referring your friends to tfw.

When someone makes a new account it asks for a '''Referrer'''. If they put your username as the referrer you get gold anytime they buy gold or starter packs. You get an extra 10% of the gold bought by anyone you refer.
''For example you convince Bob to make an account. Bob buys 500 gold. You get an extra 50 gold.''

You can do this easily by sending them to this link: http://thefarwilds.com/flash/thinflexclient.html?ref=<your username>
then your name will automatically be filled in to the referrer field when they make an account.

Is there any way to tell when someone signs up with you listed as the referrer?

Is the 10% gold given to you instantly and automatically?

Well, I tried testing this and the link wouldn't work. When I try http://thefarwilds.com/flash/thinflexcl ... f=linehand it doesn't automatically enter "linehand" in the referrer field...

Actually it goes to the login screen, then one must click "make an account" and when that comes up, all fields are empty...

I think this is a good idea. It does, however, bring up the issue of what the TFW policy is on alt accounts... It seems to me that alt accounts are used often and openly?

Dublone also brings up a very good point on alt accounts. You basically get a 10% increase on amount of gold and and a 10% discount on packs, which is obviously good and cheap.

A method to solving this might be requiring email addresses from here on when people make accounts. Yes, I am aware that you can create different email addresses also, but at least it will require a bit more work to get the cash.

Tracking IP addresses might also work, but then again some people change their IP addresses on a scheduled basis, so that really doesn't work either.

My last suggestion is to change the reward. Maybe you should make it default cards or something similar?
