I would like to open a discussion of further map customization options. I have a few ideas I'd like to discuss myself.
New Numbers of Flux Wells Currently there are 5, 7, and 9 flux wells as choices for custom maps. I am sure they give some different styles of play. I think there should be at least one even number to choose. 4, two per side, or ideally 6, 3 on each players side. This would create a very different style of play. You would have defined borders, and there would not be a race to the center. Players would be forced to attack a flank of the opponents side, to gain the flux well advantage.
Map Land Types These are map terrain types, not tile terrain types. It is how the tiles are laid out to create an overall environment. Players could select them from a menu.
River water tiles in a connected line across the board.
Valley Mountains on the sides, plains in the middle
Wasteland few water and forest, more desert plains and mountains in small clusters
Shore water on one side, land on the other
Lake water in middle, land outside
Jungle More water and forest, less desert

I like both ideas, not saying they must be necessarily implemented into Tourneys and such, but in free games it would be nice to see this available

Map Land Types sound really cool.
Also, what about a new single tile called "ford" or "bridge" where both aquatic and land creatures can cross?

Props to lord_midnight's ideas! =) Mayhembob wrote: Also, what about a new single tile called "ford" or "bridge" where both aquatic and land creatures can cross? This one really makes sense to implement. Perhaps it should be called "shallows"? I mean I always figured aquatics and land creatures should have been able to both be in "swamp" terrain.

I second cosmoiskwik, swamp tiles should be dual to both Aquatic and Land creatures, possibly buildings too.

Well, the post is few months old but still I'd like to say a couple of things on this. First, I think the idea of predefined (or partially random) maps is quite nice. And what about adding player customization? Something like that you can create and save your own maps to use for free play. It'd be also useful for deck testing. To make things more appealing for the devs (:P), as it certainly involves a lot of work, the saving slots may be made purchasable (i saw something similar in another game - a completely different one actually).
