I think Experience would be better balanced WITHOUT the sleep cost.

Sure, you can use it like a manipulation on the opponent's creature, but at the moment that seems to be almost the best use for it. It can't give range or vision, so you're limited to attack, health, and speed and you can't give 2 of the same.

So most of the time, the best you can get out of Experience on your own creature is +1 attack, +1 health (or speed).

Compare that to Training which for an easier domain requirement gives more benefit without the Sleep drawback.

What are you talking about?? You can add any stat and this spell is better than training in many cases, also it is two times cheaper ;)
For example:
- giving 1 range and 1 attack to aloft creature makes it much better because you can attack without grounding;
- another good example is giving range and attack to creatures like Sparf's Greatbow or Alearwyn Barque or just any creature that already have range;
- I used it several times on Theld Bay Sloop (+1Attack, +1Vision) and was killing opponent's base with it;
- +1Speed, +1Range to Glorn Airship and so on.
This card is definetly good.

Altren:

Ummm, that card has been improved/changed since I used it in the first Domain after the expansion. I presume the " ;) " is because you knew that already. Thanks for revealing this factoid, as I had basically dismissed the card as not viable.

Add another advantage to the list you mentioned:

It is a spell! That right there is a significant positive factor. None of this "even the birds hold their tongues" crap!*! :P I don't need me no official gaming permit to hunt some tasty Copper Stagg... :shock:

Maliciously,

DarkJello :twisted:

Hmm...I thought when I cast it, it only gave me the options I get with Elderly Swordsmaster and not the ones I get with Lost Oasis, but I'll take another look. Being able to give ranged to a flyer is useful, although it would be much nicer if it could give 2 of the same stat.

Yes, then it will be definitely overpowered.

Played with is a bit more. Still very underpowered and would be a decent but not overpowered card without the sleep.

Have you seen anyone seriously using it? As in a competitive EC or even top ladder or domain army? I haven't.

I used it in most limited games that I had.
I had no chance to use it in constructed deck because I don't have enough CI cards yet.

Did I play a match against you with a full Psion army including at least 2 Cortex or am I mixing people up?

CI seems to generally get crushed in limited since it has few or weak 1 domain creatures...unless you're lucky and get multiple soldiers and halbardiers or something.
