yaron: yeah that is the way it is supposed to work since the great oak can't give you MF domain and you need one more for your double MF card.

jed I've posted my feedback.. but there were so many threads and all that it probably got lost somewhere on the way to your hands, sorry.
PS I like the button idea as well, as I'm suggesting it from the very beginning :D
I think it would just give slightly (really slightly) higher chance to draw a card you want into opening hand - later on it would just behave normally and you wouldn't recognize the difference much (except having the possibility of casting base anytime you need it, which I think is a huge advantage.)
And there can easily be added that feature with slowly increasing cost of these so just recasting for victory wouldn't be possible. (With keeping Salvage still same, I think that should be easier to do, eh?)
but.. lol I'm already fighting for my suggestion (and yaron's, sure) again :D

Cave maybe the reason why you don't see such deck being played is because it almost isn't possible - and wasn't. Give people chance to do them.. and they'll do ;)

I don't think allowing more consistent instabuild Observatory/Mahal with no land controlled/Pigeons tricks are worth changing the rule over. That deck can still work with 1 Hall in it, it will just need to mulligan more often....which may be a good thing because it's tough for any opponent to catch up against that start. It should be similar or worst odds to a Hermit/Great Oak/Fountain start.

Are there other examples? In any case I can think of, needing to put a single extra card into a 40-card deck isn't going to kill the deck.

As I've already said: my observatory example was only ONE example. There exist aloth of similar decks. Adding a single card will of course not kill any deck, but adding a basic domain building defenitly will as i tried to explain with my Great Oak example. If you draw a Grove instead of an Oak, or a Graveyard instead of an Altar Of Ix many decks wont work anymore. And sadly the most powerfull decks that people play now, mf Mahal and Dl, is not affected (as much) by this new change, making them even more powerfull. I think everyone understands that this new rule is making it harder to play with more than one color, even if some of them are unaffected, and that is why I don't approve of this new rule.

Btw I like the button idea too:)

Newbie here :P Could you describe that particular strategy? I'm not sure I've seen it.

Maybe those decks could be adressed by tweaking the key cards somewhat. Generally I like the idea that "scripting" your deck using the autodraw mechanism shouldn't be a dominant stretegy. From the games I've played so far it seems a bit like that right now (it turns up a lot when I play against people with a high ranking). The game is more varied with decks that have to start off quite differently depending on the draw - it makes it important to find card synergies on a more general level.

Judging by the decks I see, we're very far from having a problem with single domain-decks being dominant.

I havnt read many posts.

Id just like to say I dont care much about the auto draw changes. The only decks they totaly effect are absolute building destruction decks or domain gimmick decks.

If I had to put any two cents in to how they were made I would say make alabaster pantheneon cost 8 and make it auto draw as well.

Wasn't this always the case? That domain cards from within you deck keep getting drawn when you play them, even if you don't need any more?

I had a game in which I had played all my domain buildings and had 1S, 2DL out. I was holding 3-6 cards, all of which I had sufficient domain for. I kept drawing (and cycling) diplomat ... was it supposed to continue autodrawing??

OK, this one really has me confused. I was playing themist in an EC earlier today. I had a graveyard in play, and an altar of ix in play. I had a diplomat in play for my 3rd DL domain. I drew another diplomat into my hand (as an aside, drawing diplomats when I already have all the domain I need seems to happen at an uncanny rate - think there's something up with that).

Well, I cast my 2nd diplomat and choose DL. So 1 graveyard, 1 altar + 2 diplomats should be level 4 DL? Wrong, I'm still only showing level 3 DL, and nothing else (not that it mattered in the course of the game, but it was odd).

And, on top of that, the turn immediately after playing the 2nd diplomat (for my so called '4 DL domain'), I autodrew a graveyard?!? Sorry, no Titans in my deck, and only one graveyard included in my 40 cards, so there was no reason to autodraw a graveyard when I'm already at 3 domain (actually 4, but again it only counted 3)

Just a note because something's not working right.
