This is a very very basic question (I think)
So I'm trying to figure out in general....
is it better to:

a) build up bases right next to one another from the starting position so you can defend your colony there
b) get a fast scout out to the middle flux well, build a base there and quickly attack your opponent
c) get a fast scout out to the other starting flux well and build a base there so you have 2 bases

Can someone explain me the basic strategy choices here and the pros and cons of these???
Thanks!

Hey CuttingEdge,

All of those strategies can work, it would help if we knew what domains you were playing. Even then it depends on what type of deck you are playing against. Knowing what you deck is built for would also help us to help you.

i've only played a few games mostly against the computer and some against other players.
I've been using the default decks and I notice that against the computer, it is always best to just build up a strong base and army before going on the offensive.
in playing against other people, I've tried strategies a, b and c (above) and only strategy a works (or better that strategy b and c did not work for me).
In my limited experience, it seems that trying to use the construct base option (which takes 4 turns) just doesnt seem to pan out as well.
what am i missing here? when does constructing a base (taking 4 turns) make sense?
thanks!!!

in general, it makes sense if you can get away with it. usually this means better scouting and/or map control (units) than your opponent. you can decrease the risk/reward ratio by using less expensive buildings (e.g., walled outpost or bamboo watch tower as opposed to hall/grove).

Do not try to establish a new base unless u are confident that you can defend it. Therefore it is usually easier to capture one of the corner bases since they are harder to reach for your oponent. If you want the middle one, the best strategy is usually to build your way there using two buildings with two range each (Bambo Watchtower + Great Oak).

A good general rule to keep in mind is that if your opponent casts as many, or more creatures than you in the early game, there's very little chance that you'll be able to quickly spread to a new base successfully.

For example, if in round one you cast a base and one creature, and your opponent casts a base and two or three creatures, you can assume that your chances of spreading early (or "flux rushing" as it is called) are very very poor.

Hi cutting edge,

I have a strategy guide link written by keyser Im about to post but before I do let me offer a few helpful tips.

Every domain plays a little different, its ok to mix domains and gain the benefit of both though. This dosnt mean every domain can mix with every domain and this dosnt mean you should make decks with 3 domains (I strongly encourage running 1 or 2 domains but never more). I recommend newbs master a deck before they start buying cards for other decks. Some valid common deck strategies: sylvan, sylvan/elemental, Mountain Folk/Elemental (One person even has a strong, inexpensive Sylvan/Dark Legion). If you can build a deck that regularly places in the expert clashes rather than building a ton of mediocre decks you will be much more well set off to build better decks in the future.

Heres a general strategy link

Edit: Let me also say cuttingedge99 is looking to buy a collection.
