Raped yet again by DL! (obviously sexygamer running it was a BIG part of the problem too). You can go DL or building spam to increase odds of winning, IMO. It is the best, aint no contest... DarkJello

Every Domain alone seems to have a weakness. *Chaos: No good sync between own cards. You'll find youself short on hand a lot. *DL: Overpowered, but no way to counter enchants. *MF: Terrain Screw can hit hard. *Sylvan: If weenies aren't gotten out quickly, you have one hell of time teching up to 3 domains. Easily countered by it's own strategies. *CI: Strong, but takes a long time for anything to actually take effect. Most of the domain 1 card suck without support from each other. *Ele:Strategies have a hard time staying permanent without risk of backfiring. Mahal Turbo is already at the bottom of the deck agaisnt an all out rush, Desert Mastery has to little support to combat terrain screw, and Sleet and Cinder Bros./ Ord Beast + Scorched Horizons is soundly defeated by Overclock, Dispel, Lysis, and Downpour (just to name a few).
Overall Strongest to Weakest in my opinion: 1)DL (Way Overpowered, no anti enchant holds it in check) 2)SYL (Very hard to exploit weaknesses, and handles terrain screw better than MF) 3)ELE/MF (ELE has Vivid amount of strategies, normally can handle just about everything, but heavily relies on a lot of flux usage.) (MF is Great at anti enchant, stong and well rounded for most aspects, but can fail terribly when it comes to terrain.) 4)CI/HoC(Equals. Neither have that that great synchonization in either stance, and try to win by using unorthodox methods. That's alright, but the strategies you use fails, then you will have one hell of a time.)

Yay, Zblader. my last deck is MF/Chaos which isn't anything being bitched here and yet it does really well, as far as I can tell =) so I guess it's all just about cards. methinks Chaos can be competitive on it's own but it would require all their best cards which is kinda costy so noone really has it (and noone plays for example Goblin Contractors, they're REAL pain, just cast them on something with salvage to get most of your investment back ) also Yarl Cheiftain is painful, he just won't stop bothering you unless you posses and sac him. and there more of such great Chaos cards.. btw sylvan has a great strategy; Great Oak + Beacon/Palace, it really is strong (still) (I, for the other side, will keep bitching about sylvan, it's rush is now really incredibly strong, with Dispel.)

Well then you do that. Sylvan Rush is dead if Cull the Weak comes into the play. Yarl Chieftan is one hell of a problem, but look on the other side. Where does the cost for the glory come from? It's strong, but reduces winning chances. Liek I said earlier, MF needs the right terrain. If TFW had more mountains in it's maps, then I'm sure people will bitch about it. Oak+ Palace can fail if a rush occurs. Like I said, Sylvan is easily destroyed if it's own strats are turned agaisnt it.

How often do you see Cull the Weak being played? I almost haven't so I guess that doesn't have to bother you much. MF also isn't a good idea, as it's essentially being called 'mountains' domain but in fact it's the one almost most vulnerable to mountains. living monument, HGC would help a lot, but who has these? with me getting only those most crappy MF rares around in domain .. *sigh* well what wouldn't fail against rush? and almost every deck can lose to similar deck as then it's about cards. or to rush. you can't use that as an argument. about Yarl; when I rule the map why should I care if I will win one or two rounds later?

I interpret Altren's question as follows:
* the top N players will play in a single elimination tournament with some great prize * I have been invited to participate * all players have unlimited resources to buy cards * all decks must be mono-domain (including unaligned cards) * what domain would I choose to maximize my chances of winning?
for this very specific question, I prefer the domains in this order:
MF > CI > DL > S > E > HOC

whatever... I guarantee not everyone is voting what they really believe!*! Some people don't want to have their cards nerfed, so they say some other faction is the strongest. But the proof is always in the pudding. What domain has been dominating the EC in recent months? What domain is consistently doing well? What domain gets errrr done son? DL hands down. Please don't tell me about the time 6 months ago when ELE made the top 4 in an EC. Please don't tell me about the time when 4 noobs and 1 vet were in the EC, and the vet won it all with an MF rush.
