Ever since the Wilds had died and the scripting suggested, I was thinking, why not have the Campaign overworld be a giant TFW map? Vendors could be up on different "sectors", and there could be random monster assaults that come in the form of scripted battles that force the player to use his skills and kill the monsters.

In that case, I'll provide 2 choices.
A) The idea I originally had. See above posts.
B) A more RPG-esque map, with free movement, and every other NPC in a movement pattern. You could easily teleport to the tournament area in order to get to the EC and the like, and random enemy encounters could be just determined by step count rather than beign shown on the map.
