I had an idea last week, which I will, of course, never follow through on:
Step 1) Pull out a random Magic card Step 2) Read the flavor text Step 3) Walk up to a member of the opposite sex that you wish a date with Step 4) In the most alluring and seductive voice you can manage, use the flavor text from Step 2 as a pick-up line
I though it would be funny to do this with TFW cards as well:
"Hey baby, each apprentice is given a fresh staff of pine; the rank of journeyman is awarded when its sap has turned to amber."

Greetings:
Try the following out at the next opportunity gang: (Emphasis mine).
"Hola preciosa, wherever it passes is silent; even the birds hold their tongues." Follow that with, "Would you like a private viewing?"

"As though the mighty cannons of Karkzor were not enough to repel most armies, the mountain city also fields more portable models".
Seriously, I've noticed that in situations or places where these so called pick-up lines have a chance to work, it doesn't matter much what the actual line is. These have almost as high chance to work as "Hey baby, wanna go ******* ***** ** **********?" or some cliche line or some line that tries to not sound cliche but fails.

You do realize it was NOT a serious suggestion, yes?

"Didnt that used to be on the other side of the fountain?"
Sounds like a good conversation starter to me.
