Ok, I think the Forum could really use new and more diverse and specific subforums.

This thread seeks your input to help decide what goes where, and most importantly, what goes in what. Hopefully, this will help encourage the admins to get things organize, or appoint ppl to. Either way, it will happen sometime in the future, why not get ready for it?

Word definitions:
Forum = TFW Forums as a whole.
Board Index = Where the 1st level SubForums are.
SubForum = "Folders" to threads. General is a 1st level SubForum.
Thread = You are looking at one. No threads exists within the Board Index, but only in SubForums.
> = SubForums.

FTI
This thread's 'address' is Board Index > General > Forum Reorganization!

Currently it looks like this
General = Post it here.
Strategy & Army Construction = Debate Strategy and Tactics. Share your secrets...
Card Discussion = Discuss the existing cards. Which do you think are too strong, too weak, or could be more interesting, etc
>Borderlands = Discuss Borderlands while it is in beta. Please start threads on particular cards with just the name of the card.
The Wilds = For discussion, suggestions and bugs about the upcoming Persistent Mode
Bug Reports = Please report any bugs here.
Card Ideas = Have a good idea for a card? Let us know it might get in there.
Market = Buy and Sell your cards here for real or in game gold.

------------------------------------------

General/Chit Chat = Random Talk, non game related.
>Hello = For newbies to intro themselves.
>Tech Help = Everyone will need it at some point in time.
>Praise Room = "Feel certain members deserve a shoutout? Impressed by some people's work or maybe you just had a real good experience with another member helping you? Let them know here!" (My old forum had this, and it rocked!)
>Literature & Fiction = Tentative, read below.

The Far Wilds(No Threads here, similar to Board Index)
>Strategy Talk = Strategy talk on any cards or combos.
>TFW Q&A = Ask all kinds of stupid questions. Except technical and non-game stuff.
>>Mountain Folk = EVERY MF card will have its own thread here for specific discussion, critique and whiners. This goes for every "colour"
>Deck Critque = Post a deck, sample or real, and have ppl help tweak it. Discuss theoradical deck builds, future buys and all sorts of things. Show off special combos and winning decks.
>Arena = Tentative. Read below.

The Wilds (im not into wilds, not sure the subforums...)
>

Marketplace = Sell anything, but only TFW related. No used condoms please.
>FireSales = Those selling 50 or above cards, either in bulk or individually.

Balances & Bugs
>Resolved = Resolved ones are placed here
>Pending = Pending ones, that are confirmed a bug or unbalanced, is placed here.

Suggestions = Suggest anything except those with specific subforums.
>Card Ideas = For NEW cards, not remakes.
>Site and Forum Suggestion Board = Reread the 1st 3 words.

Site(No Threads here, similar to Board Index)
>Site News = No non-staff threads allowed to be created. A changelog of EVERYTHING should be maintained here.
>Staff Room = Only viewable by Staff.

----------------------
Dats all i can think for now... do suggest redefinitions of what to place inside, or new subforums and so on.

This is the tentative ones that I would like to add.
LITERATURE AND FICTION
-I think this game could use a nice story line somewhere. Like how MTG, Blizzard games and all dat feel nice with a good novel. Either fiction on the cards, or the "world", or if say you played a game, and decide to write about it(with exerated flair and descriptions) by all means.
ARENA
-Ahhh, some fun. Basically, where people can go to challenge others, bets are made, and 1v1 (or even guild/team) battles are played out. The times for the 48 hrs events (like EC) are also displayed here. Kinda hard to explain, but it can be quite fun.
PRAISE ROOM
-As the description says. Yay or Nay?

I agree that the forum could use more categories and sub-forums - and will most likely need them - WHEN there are a lot more forum users.

Having run forums in the past, I can tell you that expanding a forum too soon tends to make it look abandoned and desolate. When you have a lot of categories, you will generally have several people posting in the new categories for the first day or two, but then the categories get stale and you have whole sections with no posts for days or even weeks.

In addition, the more categories a forum has, the more a new user feels slightly daunted.

I'd say a couple more categories should be added -- based on what are currently the most common themes, such as splitting General into Game-related vs non-Game-related discussions.

At the moment, there are only 2 forums I would really consider active: General and Card Discussion. Market and Bug Reports also get a few posts. The rest haven't been posted on in weeks.

I'd keep it simple until the numbers of posts build up. When it becomes difficult to find a post you've made and look for responses on it, then you need more categories.

Those are usually low frequency ones. I'm more into general and suggestions reorganization personally.

I'm not sure I see the connection between the number of categories and the number of your posts... I see the connection between number of threads and number of posts, of course.

stating that he didnt see a need for current reorganisation due to low posts.
He connected this forum's low posting rate to not needing to reorganise the forum to which i replied.

I used my past experience as an example.

Low posting I was referring to is a low thread count, not a personal post count.
