Quote: I like that I can play the game for just $10 (Well, for free, but don't be so cheap if you're doing that! $10 is easy for most people to afford and we want the game to stay around!) Thats almost 2 days part time work where im from. About 2 hrs over there eh? But when I start working after I graduate end of next year, I'm gona want to support the Site. TBH, I would rather order a cool shirt or something, than buy cards. Earning em slowly seems fun currently. Quote: I might also suggest gifting a free pack of Borderlands to everyone who's paid real money (or a certain amount of gold if that's easier), to market the new release. Nahhh, thats too much free stuff to give out. Maybe a special one free random card(all rarities) for ALL Borderlands packs you buy within the 1st two weeks of the game.

Boozie: If he is truly that lazy it might be easier to just get a new brother. Believe it or not, your dilemma is mentioned in the Declaration of Independence. "...all experience hath shewn that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off MtG, and to provide new Guards for their future security." TFW has a long road ahead b4 defeating the forces of darkness, AKA MtG. We need a GW to guide us to victory. Currently we are camped in Valley Fog, but don't forget it is always darkest right before it goes pitch black... errr, b4 the dawn I meant!! Is your brother 100% averse to ever trying anything new? Does he "risk" playing new decks or cards? What about food, clothing, or hotties? Be patient, remind him this is up-and-coming, and an opportunity exists to get in on a game that might explode. Honestly, I just don't get people that live in the past and are not willing to try new things. Hopefully you can express all of this without attacking him personally. Best of luck with someone that appears to believe his King is thousands of miles away across the proverbial pond. DarkJello

interesting conversation.. the thing about the newbie leagues that were around before was that they were always full, and even though i don't remember if there was a maximum number of wins or whatnot, many people seemed to generate multiple accounts to abuse it. if the rewards were only phantom cards i supposed that makes up for it to SOME extent, but also makes it less enticing for players..
re: leagues or tournaments allowing decks with varying set maximum values: brilliant idea, except that the value of cards fluctuates, so what happens if you're in the middle of a league and your 200g deck with 3 copies of one cheap rare becomes so good that the price of the rare starts to go up, thus making your deck illegal? how would that even work? why not just use rarity (as is occasionally suggested by many others)? -- constructed leagues or tournaments with all commons, even constructed leagues allowing phantoms or any cards that are in the default decks, or some very limited number of uncommons or rares... i know that you want to drive people to purchase more cards and that rarity is part of what drives that ("omg i need to get 3 copies of rare x!" etc), but as it stands it seems the game is obligated to provide free options anyway.. so what's the difference?

Heh you have no idea. After he finally quit WoW like 3 months ago he's lapsed back into Diablo 2, I think he's got around 30+ high runes. I pretty much tell him I'm going to force him to at least try the game, but I haven't had the time to sit down with him and push him through it.

Its a normal thing with gamers. You are good at something, spent so much time invested in head knowedge and tatics that you dont want to move away.
Like say counterstrike. COD4, BField and what not are possilby superior to CS v1.6, but CS is still the one with the higher following.

I hear you. CS 1.3 all the way.
I just think he'd really like it if I can drag him out of his shell.
I am strongly for some sort of league that rewards phantom cards, even if it lets them chose which ones or "phantom packs" or something. This will help keep some of the veterans away and really let beginners get some great experience.

i had to do a report, i recall colorado was like 7.50 or something for min wage. Ahhh, your buying power over that is soooo great.
Things are like 3-5 times cheaper(especially eletronics) over in the usa, and wages are way higher. But then, the petrol in my country is less than 1usd/liter. Hehe.

1 US gallon = 3.78541178 liters And last time I paid for gas, it was 2.69 USD per gallon. You do the math.
