Oh, what is going on in the minds of the ladder-abusing noobs now? Certainly good news to hear about the changes. However, I still can't understand why using multiple accounts should be such an integral part of this game. Until that has somehow been taken care of it is hard to see how the ladder can work as intended. A general suggestion to the devs is to put together a group of people with the aim of investigating how a proper TOS/EULA could work for TFW. This could be a first step towards (at least) discussing the merits and demerits of allowing multiple (active) accounts. As of now, I know of only one rule and that is that you are not allowed to play against yourself. But I have no idea whether that rule is explicitly stated somewhere. Notions such as 'abuse' and 'cheating' have only very little meaning in a context in which there are no rules that define their use. I think a dedicated group of people could help out with this. Cheers.

Jed, should you choose to create such a committee as Voices has proposed, I'll be on it and/or even head it up. I assume Voices would say the same thing, too.

Took a year of law (kinda like it) and know my way around such stuff. Could be of help. Then again, getting a proper lawyer to handle it would be the better thing. You dont want to mess such things up by being cheap.

Voices: That would be great. Committee formed. I think just post the rules in the wiki for now. Let me know what you need from me.

my two cents =
i think there should just be a ladder match button and anyone can play anyone and then do whatever calculations you want to where when a newb gets beat by the #1 player not a lot happens but at least people would get games. you could even have two ladders one more newb freindly kind of like the current one and one that is just a free for all like i have suggested.

I may unintentionally have created an impression that I wanted to be on that commitee myself. It was just a general suggestion and at this point in time I don't want to be a part of that committe myself. (I have my reasons that I would be happy to elaborate upon in in-game chat.) chilleo wrote: my two cents =

-Leo I also think it would be nice if the ladder worked that way (much like the rating system works in chess). Unfortunately it is open to all kinds of abuse. In the suggested system just as in the old one, it is possible to intentionally keep your rating at 1000-1050 and still score high on the ladder. It is just that every now and then you will have to lose to higher-rated players which, incidentally, helps you to abuse the system... As for the second option of having two systems... Might work but it would probably need a much larger player base and rules for multiple accounts. (As an aside, I personally think that tanking your rating to win some gold on the ladder is, was and will always be the noobest kind of thing you can do in this game.)

It seems to me that the winner's rating only figures in the "250+(Rl-Rw)" clause. So, the higher my rating, the less points I get for defeating the same person. Or am I misreading the formula?

I have noticed something very strange with the ladder this week. If I lose the match I lose points, if I win the match I don't gain points. At first I thought I just was not beating people with a low enough uncertainty. But that detail was removed correct? But even against players in the 60-70 uncertainty range I still net 0 points for a victory. Are the Sith Lords trying to drive me from the game? Is this another devious attempt by Iran to destroy the free world. Has the martian invasion begun? Or is this just a glitch confined to tfw and my account? I don't know the answer. Hopefully someone does. Confusingly, DarkJello
